Last week we gathered to consider what Jesus might have to say about divorce. While we started in Mark's gospel we also looked more widely through Scripture. You can find the service at player.vimeo.com/video/106128...

youtu.be/pvT3aQjLxdE Here's a 🎶 twist on Coldplay's thumping #VivaLaVida we're calling "Puppets on a Kremlin String?" It reflects on the grotesque media spectacle hosted by #Trump & #Vance yesterday at the White House. In solidarity with Zelensky & Ukraine. #SlavaUkraini #Dontabandonthem

After seeing Donald Trump’s sickening video on Gaza yesterday, I have put my thoughts here. davidsunman.wixsite.com/blog/post/wh...

Sales of Tesla cars in Europe fell by 45% last month, despite EV sales in general being up 37%. Shareholders should email Elon Musk and ask what got done last week.

This seems to have credible sources and makes sense of some of what is coming from the White House.

Sickening.

If Ukraine is forced to surrender its sovereign territory to Russia, it will be the greatest betrayal of a European ally since Poland in 1945. The UK must lead in Europe in defence of Ukraine. We cannot stand back and watch as Zelensky is bullied by Trump.

Last Sunday we continued our series looking at Finding Jesus in Mark's Gospel. In this service we consider what Jesus says about who is in and who is out, with surprising results. (Apologies for the sound quality.) vimeo.com/1055731717

MAGA morality: Put thousands of federal employees on leave, cut aid that sustains countless lives, demonize your opponents, and then enjoy the suffering of your enemies. But then - when one DOGE worker is fired for vicious racism -say, "Where's the grace and mercy in this country?"

My church service from this morning, picking up again on our series in Mark’s gospel can be found at vimeo.com/1052740781.

The conversation you know they really had www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

In yesterday's service, my church looked at what it means to be one in Christ, why we so often find divisions creeping in to our lives and what Paul has to say about that in Ephesians 2:11-22. You can find the service at vimeo.com/1050815172. There’s a special shout out for my Bluesky friend Kathy.

The service at my church last Sunday continued our series on belonging and looked at what Paul says about one body and one Spirit in Ephesians 4. You can find the service at vimeo.com/1048585002

Last Sunday in our service my church looked at what it means for God the Father and God the Son to be one and for us to be one. You can see the whole service at vimeo.com/1047877948.

This January, at my church we are looking at what it means to belong. In our first service of the year we explore that by looking at what it means to love one another. You can find the service at vimeo.com/1045752629

I feel like I keep seeing church leaders saying things like, “How do we use AI in our ministries?” YOU DON’T Whether it is permissible to use the plagiarism machine that’s destroying the environment to write your sermons, etc. should not be an open question ⚓️

As my church, Woodmansterne Baptist Church, gears up for the new term ahead we wanted to share a short video with highlights of our Advent and Christmas services. You can find the service at vimeo.com/1043134458.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope and pray that 2025 will bring you joy, peace and love.

I want to take this chance to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a peaceful and happy new year.

#PopeFrancis at his general audience: "The Christian cannot be satisfied with having hope; he or she must also radiate hope, be a sower of hope. It is the most beautiful gift that the Church can give to all of humanity, especially at times in which everything seems to be dragging down the sails."

Through advent my church are looking at the songs in the biblical Christmas story (Mary, Zechariah, angels & Simeon). We’re also asking people to share stories of any Christmas songs which hold significant meaning for them. If any of you have similar stories, I’d love to read them in the comments.

The countdown to Christmas begins tomorrow! And there's still time to sign up for LICC’s new prayer journey. Across 25 days, you'll get a fresh perspective on the familiar Christmas story and be inspired to follow our down-to-earth Saviour in your everyday life: bit.ly/3B0s4ia

Interesting blog from a leading constitutional lawyer on the impact (or not) of the petition to call another general election. x.com/profmarkelli...

This morning I will be preaching on Mark 9 where a man tells Jesus that he believes but also asks him to help with his unbelief. There is a tension that I suspect all people of faith should live with where we believe much but still have areas of doubt and lack of understanding. Lord, help us too.

This. The most effective way to 'smash the gangs' is by offering safe routes for refugees to get here.

A helpful article on some of the technical issues surrounding the ‘Assisted Dying’ Bill in the UK Parliament. publiclawforeveryone.com/2024/11/18/a...

Great Tom Wright quote, “We have lived for too long in a world, and tragically in a Church, where the wills and affections of human beings are regarded as sacrosanct as they stand, where God is required to command what we already love, and to promise what we already desire.” We must be different.

An interesting article on BBC News about the interaction of faith and politics in the US election. As a white evangelical pastor in the UK, it feels as if these issues are more about a culture, tribal identity and fear of decline than about values that are at the heart of my faith. #USElection

Hi everyone. As a true leader, I spotted the exodus from Elon and thought I’d do what you all were. Hoping this can be a social media with space for real discussion and fun.
