I'm making a new playlist of cover songs. What are your favorites?

I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US. Totally embarrassing.

Somehow, someway, I kept my “run more than last month” streak alive. One more run left in February and it’s on to March where I’ll be back to a few double digit long runs.

It’s weird having a “real” winter. I used to love running in the cold, but I feel like I’ve aged quite a bit these past couple of months.

My IG Reels are all of a sudden filled with things about moving to Portugal. 🤔 Not a bad idea actually…

Everytime something happens in the federal government that isn't even political, I am reminded of how many friends I have who work there. The park service, the CDC, the IRS. And they've all been impacted in these past few weeks. (1/2)

If you're on the former bird app, please try to quit using the #RunChat tag there. If you want to post there, whatever, that's on you posting on a state-run social media platform.

Despite living here for the past 13 years (and a combined 16 years), I very rarely venture into the city. But it really is such a cool place to run. #rva #runchat

The refs are already up 6-0. #SuperBowl

"The prebunking tactic may really be the only way to counter Musk’s Super Bowl propaganda, given that it is doubtful that anyone else has or would be able to purchase a “counter ad” during this programming...share widely in your networks and on platforms..." asharangappa.substack.com/p/prebunking...

If Musk did buy Super Bowl ads, it’s nothing but propaganda. Also, most of this government waste that he and his cronies are “finding” is already public information. Don’t be fooled by the biggest fool of our time.

Avoid falling down conspiracy traps.

Elon Musk now has access to your Social Security number. The world’s richest man has gained access to the confidential personal information of every taxpayer in the United States.

The opposition message should be very easy right now: Nobody Voted For Elon Musk.

Happy January 32nd everyone.

i just cannot get over how much the administration’s response to the crash shows a profound disrespect for the lives of the people they are supposed to serve

If the Bills don’t win today, I have no desire to watch the Super Bowl.

This team has been coming back all season. Not counting them out yet!

I was 13 the last time a Washington football team was playing for the Super Bowl. Dan Snyder ruined so many things and I just didn’t care what the team did until he was gone. This year has been special no matter what happens today. And the future looks bright. Also … go Bills!

8.1 miles this morning. Six months ago I had several weeks without getting to that many miles. #runchat

Day 1 of a new era of working in the media. Trump pardons Jan. 6 rioters; we post about it; whataboutism sets it with what Biden did and “why didn’t you post about that” comments are everywhere; I then link to the numerous posts to show people we posted about that too. Staying as objective as I can

This past week or so really has me questioning what I want to do with my career. I really enjoy what I do, but I want less stress and not feeling like I need to be “on” when I’m off.

No #RunChat today! Instead, spend a few minutes filling out our survey to help shape future chats.

A weird run this afternoon after last night’s snow. Some roads covered completely, some already totally dry, and a lot of in between with a slushy mess. #runchat

Running/walking in a winter wonderland.

Our snow drought is over. #rva #bonairva

4.4 miles to kick off 2025. I don’t have any calendar-year goals, and don’t plan to set any. I just want to get focused on being more prepared for the Blue Ridge Half in a few months. #runchat

The “run more than last month” streak continues. It seems to be a theme of mine lately for the second half of a year. This month has been a bit dull, but it’s good enough to get me ready to train for the Blue Ridge Half.

I’m a little late at checking out lights this year, but waiting until Christmas Eve makes it even better. 🎄🎅

Engagement is totally dead on IG now, and every time I go there I see posts 2-3 or more days old. I’m not going to start creating Reels all the time either. 2025 may be the year to just stop worrying about being there.

I’m having a full circle moment with calf sleeves and compression socks. Loved them for the longest time, then hated them, but so far this late winter I’m enjoying them again. After dealing with calf issues mid-year, things haven’t felt “right” below my knees for a long time. That’s changing…

So I got one of those energy saver things from my MIL. 🤬

If you’re a grandparent with grandchildren age 14ish and up, those kids really only want cash or gift cards for Christmas. Not body sprays or T shirts you think are cute.

To add to how ridiculous I look in the winter, I ordered a cheap pair of glasses with my prescription to have for running. What a difference it is to be able to better see the cars that almost hit me. 🤬

Christmas is next week. That feels weird to type/say that out loud.

17 weeks until the Blue Ridge Half. Too much time to really get into a training mindset but close enough to think how I want to train for this race. Just adding miles and going with "running more" isn't going to work anymore. #runchat #runblueridge

Get out there this weekend and cross off some items on the #RunChatHunt list! Tag us in your posts! Details: www.therunchat.com/runchatevent...

I have been reminding myself lately of how bad running was for me this summer. Not quite 13 miles for all of July; only 15.something for August. #runchat
