Yesterday I checked on the sinkhole that appeared at the intersection of All Saints Road and Vicarage Road. I reported concerns to Kier Highways about signage and dangerous driving. They have said to me today that they will address traffic management, and the work will be completed next Tuesday.

My heart is heavy hearing the news from Kashmir. The reality of the India-Pakistan war, as shared by loved ones there, is deeply disturbing. We urgently need an independent investigation and for the UK government to push for peace and a democratic solution for Kashmir. #Kashmir #IndiaPakistan #Peace

We've been out on Dawberry Fields Road and Harton Way tonight, talking to residents about the issues that matter to them and how we can help 🌹

This morning, Lisa and I met with officers to walk through improvements to York Road. We have been assured work will start this month on either end of the street to build out the kerbs and put in new planters. We will update you when we have more information. We also reported nearby flytipping.

Brandwood and Kings Heath councillor advice centres are on the first Monday and third Wednesday of the month. Please come along if you have any issues you need support with.

Last week I reported that the school crossing sign by Allens Croft Primary School had been knocked out of place, facing away from the road, and was too dirty to read. I'm pleased to see the Council has repaired the sign so motorists know to drive more carefully when approaching the school crossing.

This week, Lisa and I have been supporting parents and community members at Allens Croft Primary School with the campaign to make the roads children cross every day safer. It's been fantastic to see everyone get involved, especially the children dressing up as zebras and helping to design posters.

We've been out speaking to residents on Dawberry Road today, asking about issues affecting them and how we can help. Great to see the Dawberry Corner community garden looking good too.

Dangerous driving outside Allens Croft Primary School is a huge concern for parents, carers, and teachers. This week Lisa and I have been out again with volunteers to record the frequency of road safety issues at the zebra crossing. Thanks to everyone who came to help and chat with us.

Today the Planning Committee attended a site visit of the Stirchley co-operative development. It was a pleasure to have helped organise this and for the committee to see how we can deliver homes for communities that are led by the community.

Great to speak with Birmingham Healthy Air Coalition campaigners about their work to free our city from the impact of toxic air. You can get more information about their work at brumhealthyair.org.uk

At this month's Full Council meeting, I spoke as Chair of Sustainability and Transport Overview and Scrutiny about the work our committee has done over the past few years on transport and how we need to look more at sustainability over the next twelve months.

I was outside this morning to check on the road safety concerns and had parents raise this incident with me. It's totally unacceptable and we are working with the community change this culture.

Huge thanks to Simon Foster PCC for coming to chair a meeting of residents, businesses, police, and community workers in Kings Heath last night. Really useful discussion on how we join up working between neighbouring forces and how we can all support their work.

Good to see action being taken by the police. Lisa and I have had a lot of complaints about this location and have worked hard to support the police with their work. We asking what the next steps are to make this locations safer in future. www.westmidlands.police.uk/news/west-mi...

We're getting a lot of messages about the traffic problems caused by road works on the High Street. We both warned TFWM that there would be problems on the narrow side roads and asked that they put in place a one-way system to avoid the road blocks we are seeing from diversions.

A little Birmingham Labour trip to Nuneaton today ahead of the Warwickshire County Council elections. Huge frustration with the current Conservative administration and a hunger for change. @larry-turner.bsky.social

UPDATE: I have now been informed that there was a mistake on the application form (mixing up indoor and outdoor licences). Fletchers are now requesting an *outdoor* seating licence until 11pm (clearing away from 10:30pm to 11pm), which is the same as the Hare and Hounds' recent application.

For the third time in a week, Lisa and I have been busy in Kings Heath Park. Today we met with Council officers to discuss potential improvements to the park like new equipment for children and adults, and a look at how we make our park more accessible for all.

Fletchers has applied to extend their licence for outdoor seating until midnight Monday to Sunday. I am asking that all venues on York Road close their outdoor seating areas at 10:30pm in order to have it cleared by 11pm. For the second day in a row, Lisa and I are meeting with community groups in Kings Heath Park. Today we have been working on the future of the plant nursery. We know this is something a lot of residents care about, and we will keep you posted on any progress to save this local resource.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! 🇮🇪 This morning, Lisa and I met with community groups and Council officers to help bring together future plans for Kings Heath Park that put the community first. Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit! 🇮🇪

Big thanks to Claire Ward - Mayor of the East Midlands - for speaking to everyone at the LGA boosting middle leaders course.

This month at Full Council I spoke on the external auditors report and their damming statements on the culture and behaviours within the Council.

So depressing to see a van parked illegally on kings heath high street with "in partnership with Birmingham city council" in its side. (Yes I've reported it)

Happy International Women's Day! aka Happy "When is International Men's Day?" (IMD is on 19 November) Day!

This morning Cllr Lisa Trickett and I, with members of Kings Heath Neighbourhoods Forum, monitored the dangerous driving and parking outside Allens Croft Primary School as part of a project with parents and residents to make these streets safer for children going to school. Watch this space... 🦓
