Recently talking to someone involved with improving NHS "efficiency" in UK. Asked how it is measured. They gave the example of operations per surgeon. My suggestion of *successful* operations per surgeon was apparently novel. I wish people would distinguish between process and result.

Surely with the scorched earth policy Trump is wielding at a lot of important US science, the UK (in particular, being Anglophone) & Europe should be on the biggest scientific talent recruitment drive in centuries? Are we? If not, why not? The 30s analogy people are missing is the flight of talent

Others have said it, but *please* @bsky.app can you make mouse-back from a zoomed image window just close the zoomed window, not take you back to what you were doing before bsky? Thanks.
