It's like watching two school bullies demanding dinner money and then asking their victim to be grateful he hasn't been bogwashed too.

My advice is to give Bergerac a go at 9.00pm on U&Drama. And then maybe we'll get a Shoestring reboot too... #Bergerac

When watching #EastEnders, does anyone sing the saxophone bit from the jazzy 1993 theme? Just me and my wife, I reckon. It's at the 1m 40sec mark here in case you're interested: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeOp...

Bergerac is back tonight at 9.00pm on U&Drama (or watch the full series now on U). My Radio Times verdict. #Bergerac

I told my son I'd been previewing a drama about the execution of Ruth Ellis. He genuinely thought I was talking about Rose Ayling-Ellis.

Wonder if Amazon will now order a new season of this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoWe...

Despite Stallone being his fan, do you think Trump watches Rocky IV wanting Drago to win?

Thanks to the new Agatha Christie and a drama about Ruth Ellis, my TV workload this week has involved much in the way of platinum blondes in period costume staring icily in courtrooms.

Prediction: the Queen Vic fire will be doused by gallons of water dropped from a specially equipped helicopter flown by...Mick Carter, who has trained as a pilot after suffering amnesia. He flies off and that's all we see of Danny Dyer until the 50th. #EastEnders

This is why, no matter how horrible he gets, I can never fully condemn Ian Beale: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hft2...

Hmmmm. What to watch: the BAFTAs or the Den and Angie two-hander ep of #EastEnders? If I had six little months to live, which decision would I make?

This has been so gorgeously designed by Stuart. And it features some archive interviews by me - some of which I was staggered to discover I wrote over a decade ago! All now spruced up and looking really stylish. #EastEnders

Steve McFadden portraying Phil as this wrecked hulk of a man on tonight's #EastEnders was something else. I'd love to see him do Bill Sikes or Magwitch one day. Can you imagine what that'd be like?

Stay tuned on #EastEnders for the now-obligatory anniversary "stinks in 'ere" throwback line of dialogue.

One of TV's top crime dramas is back - new series of Unforgotten now up on ITVX (ep 1 also airs at 9.00pm on ITV1). My pick of the day from Radio Times #Unforgotten

With #Bergerac coming soon, when will I get my noirish Howards' Way reboot with drugs smuggling at the Mermaid Boatyard and Tom Howard breaking bad? #HowardsWay

Spent the last hour reading all the #EastEnders 40th anniversary deaths speculation. If it is Martin, there would be - I dunno - symmetry, seeing as Pauline found out she was pregnant with him back in ep 1. But killing the last Fowler standing? Seems a bit harsh!

New period drama Miss Austen begins tonight at 9.05pm on BBC1. My pick of the day for Radio Times #MissAusten

I don't usually fanboy over people, but I think I might have done this week when I met my favourite of the Slow Horses - Chris Chung aka Roddy Ho. A stone cold legend, as Roddy himself would say. #SlowHorses

Have you noticed that High Potential has - quite rightly - been at No 1 on Disney+ for nearly a week now? People are obviously finding and loving this show. #HighPotential

It's always a pleasure to be previewing a new series of #Unforgotten.

Murder By Decree felt like an illicit movie to me when I was growing up. A Sherlock Holmes film that was actually 18-rated. And it always seemed to shown really late on ITV. Wonder how it'll strike me now. May have to revisit it. #MurderByDecree

I really enjoyed this week's episodes of Silent Witness. Shades of Michael Crichton about the constant tension on board a plane where Nikki is a passenger. Would definitely recommend. Here are my Radio Times previews. #SilentWitness

Enjoying High Potential on Disney+. If you miss shows such as Psych and Monk or enjoy Poker Face, then give it a go. Stars Kaitlin Olson aka Dee on It's Only Sunny in Philadelphia. #HighPotential

Big recommend for Jonathan Coe's latest book The Proof of My Innocence. A sly whodunnit and satire written by a master of the narrative sleight of hand. So good!

I liked that the question about David Lynch on today's The Rest is Entertainment podcast came from a Gordon Cole. #TheRestIsEntertainment

My review of Star Trek: Section 31 #StarTrek www.radiotimes.com/movies/scifi...

PLEASE let it not be Kojo who hit Cindy with the shovel on #EastEnders.

Breaking news: Richard Armitage is NOT in the cast for the next Harlan Coben adaptation on Netflix. #RunAway

County lines drugs drama Out There, starring Martin Clunes, is on ITVX. Episode 1 also on ITV1 tonight. My pick of the day preview for Radio Times #OutThere

Never been so terrified either before or since. Jolted me into adolescence. Stayed with me forever. RIP David Lynch. #TwinPeaks

If this was really an episode of Columbo, Patrick McGoohan would turn out to be a surprise Traitor. #TheTraitors

It's the opposite of Columbo, because on that show you see who gets murdered at the beginning. #TheTraitors #Columbo

Are all these actors who are leaving #Corrie secretly setting up a rival soap?

New Silent Witness airing tonight on BBC1 (though it's already up on BBC iPlayer). My Radio Times pick of the day #SilentWitness
