At a hundred days into his presidency, Joe Biden had a 52% approval rating. As we near the hundred days mark in his second term, Donald Trump has a 39% approval rating. Here's how those numbers were framed by the media:

this guy is a world class asshole

If they were arresting judges in another country with an authoritarian-inclined (even if democratically elected) government, we'd be alarmed. We in the U.S. should be alarmed.

At some point you’d think I’d get over my anger. And you’d be wrong. 👇🏾

My daughter Julie started her career by working for Americorps. Now, the orange devil and his henchmen want to slash an inexpensive program that has launched so many public service careers. Why? Because he thinks federal employees should serve him and his whims, not the public and it's needs. Shame!

My latest column for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Debate over noncitizen voting mirrors Pittsburgh synagogue shooter's rhetoric www.post-gazette.com/opinion/gues...

Through all his troubles, neither the DOJ/FBI nor any state authorities ever subjected Donald Trump to arrest, preferring in every case to proceed by indictment and voluntary surrender. It’s notable that a sitting judge and pillar of the Milwaukee community was not extended the same courtesy.

The stupidity is like nuclear. and they obviously think all of us are stupid, too. And frankly too many of us are.

reporting on this has really got to get better about communicating the magnitude of the breach here. if you read the nyt article with minimal context, you would have no sense that this was watergate-level impeachable misconduct

Donald Trump ordered the Department of Justice to investigate the leading platform through which Democrats raise money for their campaigns. Less that 100 days in, Trump is weaponizing DOJ to prevent his political opponents from funding opposition campaigns. Where is the outrage?

Cable TV networks could put informational pop-ups on the screen to fact-check Trump in real time. They don't. They could put him on a tape delay and stop the tape and explain every time he lies. They don't. They could go back afterward and detail every lie he told. They don't. They're complicit.

The level of criminality in the Republican Party is off the charts. Trump just pardoned a Nevada politician who raised money for a statue of a slain police officer but spent it on cosmetic surgery instead. Trump gives his co-conspirators a license to steal.

Final: Orioles 2, Nats 1. Teams combined for 9 hits. MacKenzie Gore took a hard-luck loss. Nationals couldn't finish off the sweep, settle for a series win before the Mets come to town.

A new study forecasts more than 850,000 measles cases over the next 25 years if US vaccination rates stay the same. Millions of infections are possible if rates drop. My latest for @wired.com: www.wired.com/story/scient...

Walz: If you say you love freedom but you don't believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love is not freedom, it is privilege.

This one felt like it was going to be tight down to the wire all along. The kind of ballgame the Nationals are increasingly comfortable with. www.masnsports.com/component/ea...

Good God.

one of the world's top cancer scientists, who works for Harvard, is at risk of deportation to Russia where she might be killed for criticizing Putin, because she allegedly failed to disclose carrying frog embryos at the border. it's upending American medical research: prospect.org/health/2025-...

NEW: The Trump administration is quietly putting America’s children at risk by cutting funds and manpower for investigating child abuse, enforcing child support payments, providing child care and much more.

No, you really don't "have to ask yourself" this. The right to criticize the government, even for *lawful* policies (let alone what Trump is trying to do), is not just central to the First Amendment's protection of free speech; it is one of the most critically important features of *any* democracy.

The Trump administration cut the funding for attorneys and legal services for migrant children. So now kids, in cartoon t-shirts and PJs, some *as young as four,* are facing immigration court alone. gothamist.com/news/4-year-...

To put a finer point on it. Trump’s contention isn’t just that he can deport people without them appearing before a judge, but that he can render them into a life sentence in a foreign dungeon with no process whatsoever.

"Should President Trump deport Afghan allies back and the Taliban execute them, he will complete America’s betrayal of the values embodied in a generation of American combat veterans. So much for respecting the military. So much for making America great." www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-admi...

A US citizen with a learning disability who has just suffered a medical emergency asks a CBP officer for directions outside the emergency room. He ends up detained in an icebox for ten days and has the assistant secretary of DHS lying about him to the public at large. popular.info/p/us-citizen...

I wish more would do the same, while understanding everyone is not in a position to do so. 👇🏾

Final: Nats 7, Orioles 0. Mitchell Parker allowed 1 hit and 2 walks over 8 scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 1.39. The lineup produced 10 extra-base hits, including homers by Nathaniel Lowe and Dylan Crews and 2 doubles by James Wood on his bobblehead night.

🐶 Did you know over 5,600 #dogs were on the federal payroll as of February 2022? These heroic floofs aren’t just chasing tennis balls — they're detecting explosives, sniffing out narcotics, and working side-by-side with law enforcement like total pros.

This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

“A new study models the impact of the implosion of U.S.-funded disease treatment and prevention in the developing world — and suggests that Elon Musk and Marco Rubio will go down as among history’s greatest monsters if funding and effective administration are not restored.”

"Obviously we can't go up there and put up a dozen every night. But we'd like to score more than we did tonight, because we didn't like the outcome." One day after a 12-run explosion, the Nats didn't even manage an extra-base hit over 18 innings. www.masnsports.com/blog/bats-go...

While Trump wants loyalty, he continues to hire and appoint people who would be more like rookies rather than someone with experience. Trump always has problems with people who have experience. That's because he will find they disagree with him a lot. Trump doesn't like that.

Jessica: Abrego Garcia's legal status was approved by the Trump administration in 2019, and every year since then, he has checked in with the departed of homeland security, and no one has said anything about him being a gang banger.
