Bamburgh Castle at night. Northumberland, England, UK #Bamburgh #BamburghCastle #Northumberland

Lambs enjoying some hawthorn leaves this morning in Teesdale.

Spotted this Dipper while out filming in Teesdale this morning. Dipper are Britain's only aquatic songbird. It's a beautiful song if you are lucky enough to be able to hear it above the sound of the river. #wildteesdale #teesdale #rivertees #wildlifephotography #wildteesdale

A lovely little Wren singing this morning while I was out filming just after dawn. They have a beautiful song which is incredibly loud for such a small bird. #WildTeesdale #Wren #Teesdale #DawnChorus

Spring Gentian (Gentiana verna) in Upper Teesdale. I was pleased I managed to get a shot showing the flower in it's various stages including the rosettes. #springgentian #teesdale #flora #flowers

Middleton-in-Teesdale with the late Bronze-age, early Iron-age, tree covered Tumulus of Kirkcarrion dominating the skyline over the village. #Teesdale #Kirkcarrion #NorthPennines

Hibernating Queen wasp. You can tell she is in hibernation mode because her wings are tucked under her legs to protect them over winter. I am pleased to say she didn't even know she had been photographed. #wldlifephotography #naturephotography #macrophotography

A couple of thirsty female Red Deer drinking from a stream in early morning light, UK. #wildlifephotography #reddeer #nature

Watching a sunrise, or sunset is one of life's simple pleasures. #sunrise #sunset #landscapephotography

A young Brown Hare (Lepus capensis) taking in the smell of a Daffodil Flower. Have a great weekend folks 😊 #wildlifephotography #hare #teesdale

It's a bit of self promotion/congratulation I know, but it's nice to have a pic and copy published in this months Outdoor Photography magazine. #landscapephotography #teesdale #countydurham

No peace for number thirteen with a bored lamb wanting to play.

A mini woodland landscape of Sun Spurge (Euphorbia helioscopia), a sapling which may be Hazel and Wood Sorrel (Oxalis acetosella) all growing on a moss covered log. Teesdale, County Durham, UK #woodland #flora #reesdale #wildteesdale

A short video on photographing Bamburgh Castle in the mist a few weeks ago. youtu.be/4bbzQzctg64?...

Bamburgh Castle and dog walker as the sun finally began to break through the fog just after sunrise. A long exposure helps to balance the sea with the diffused light on the castle. #landscapephotography #northumberland #bamburghcastle

What do you do when it's too foggy to capture wider landscapes? Keep photographing of course😊 Bamburgh beach, Northumberland, UK #landscapephotography #northumberland #coast

This poor pheasant looks to have been in the wars this morning. Ten metres away from this one, another pheasant was so aggressive it stood its ground vocalising and flapping it wings at the car (I avoided it). I suspect this one had just been in a scrap with the one I met. #wildteesdale #teesdale

A shot of a Dipper I captured in some nice golden light recently. River Tees, Teesdale, County Durham, UK #birdphotography #teesdale #northpennines #wildteesdale

A Toothwort (Lathraea squamaria) flower we found the other day while out filming. This a parasitic woodland species that is completely lacking in chlorophyll. Location: Teesdale, County Durham, UK #wildteesdale #teesdale #countydurham

I spotted this Grey Wagtail while out and about filming this morning in Teesdale, UK. This incidentally is just a still pulled from the video.

The view across a misty Teesdale at sunrise from the ancient tumulus of Kirkcarrion, Lunedale, Teesdale, County Durham, England. #LandscapePhotography #Teesdale #Kirkcarrion #NorthPennines davidf.picfair.com/images/01427...

I spotted this Green Tiger Beetle (Cicindela campestris) while out filming today in the North Pennines, UK. I saw one predate a beetle and crikey they are ferocious little things. It didn’t take long for it to eat it either. Just look at those jaws #Macro #MacroPhotography #NorthPennines

A bit of a noisy record shot of the Northern Lights through cloud and light pollution last week at Findhorn, Scotland. It didn't last long unfortunately plus this image was shot more to the north west as the sky to the north had full cloud cover. #Scotland #NorthernLights #Findhorn #NightSky

I was out filming Dipper again yesterday and spotted this one having a bit of a tussle with a leaf - who won do you think? They do make me smile 😄 Note: Bluesky compression seriously affects the video quality, but in reality the vid is tack sharp at 4K #WildTeesdale #Teesdale #BirdPhotography

Bamburgh Castle in the fog last week. It was dull and grey with a thick band of fog to the east at dawn, but I decided to hang around and was rewarded with some wonderful diffused light just after sunrise. #BamburghCastle #Northumberland #Coast #LandscapePhotography

Frogs doing their spring thing last week in Teesdale. After a short warm spell the ponds are now frozen over again as will be the top layers of frogspawn. #Wildlife #Nature #WildlifePhotography #WildTeesdale

I have been out filming Dipper again this week. I rarely get chance to swap the camera to stills mode so this shot is a still frame from the video. Watching the water bead off their feathers as they duck in and out of the water is a wonderful sight. #Teesdale #WildTeesdale #Dipper #RiverTees

I forget just how long I have been into photography. This is a shot of of a cavern known as Toyland in the Kingsdale Cave system, Yorkshire Dales, UK. It was shot in the late 80's using either a Zenit or an Olympus OM1 film camera utilising off camera flashes. #YorkshireDales #Caving #CavePhotograhy

I spotted this Slow Worm (Anguis fragilis) while out filming in Teesdale at the weekend. They aren't worms, but are actually legless lizards. I also an spotted Adder too. Unfortunately we are back to cold weather again, with snow forecast on the higher ground brrrr.🥶 #WildlifePtotography #Teesdale
