Brak being listed as "Br." is killing me for some reason. What a gentleman

Anyone else remember this Bush-era legend youtu.be/DAmK0XD8DuM?...

Having defeated SPECTRE, Bond begins to learn of a new, even more insidious organization, only identified as "ROKO B"

Over on X, simple tweets by my colleague Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been blocked. They were nothing but video of a town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick R-GA where he was asked questions about DOGE

"When you ride TESLA, you ride with Hitler. Join Public Transportation Today!" Reworked WW2 poster spotted in Oakland

He really left it all on the field including his brain

"Fire and Brimstone" by Link Wray is simply one of the hardest songs in existence. Not many songs go as hard as "Fire and Brimstone" by Link Wray

A defiant Mayor Eric Adams, standing in front of a dozen elderly members of the clergy, gives a speech to the assembled media in which it gradually becomes clear that he believes all of the events that happen in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats "really happened, right here in New York."

My go-to metaphor has been cancer but I think this by @ositanwanevu.bsky.social is even better

Not to flex but anyone who followed Elon's hyperloop arc saw this coming a mile away. He said he could save 90% over high speed rail by ... buying land cheaper. That was it, he never offered any further specifics and the media utterly failed to convey how much of a charlatan he was.

This only exists to generate B-roll for future Adam Curtis documentaries

The DOGE employee is referencing an essay that is part of a series that Unz has done for years. In the series, he wrote a piece that was thousands of words long about holocaust denial, clearly supportive of it. This is a small portion.

If you get paid this week & have extra cash, please consider buying a warm hat or pair of boots from our registry! These are the most requested items (esp. boots—it's been snowy in NYC!) at shelters we've been distro'ing at, but we've run out. (check "Most Wanted" tab) www.target.com/gift-registr...

Trump is blocking the Associated Press from the Oval Office. Rather than stand up for freedom of the press, the rest of legacy media is taking advantage of AP's absence. When this inevitably leads to AP cutbacks, the same legacy media will lament the plight of media decline.

time to dig up the @adamkotsko.bsky.social tweet

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

if journalism is supposed to be one of the institutions that safeguards a free society then journalists should be opponents of autocratic takeovers, brian.

Would've been covered as one of the biggest scandals in American political history if we had a press that wasn't in the tank for Trump.

Every day, more and more Jewish leaders break from decades of silence to reject ethnic cleansing. Thank you to these 350 rabbis using your voices in this moment to oppose Trump’s plans in Gaza and #SayNoToEthnicCleansing. #GazaIsNotForSale

📌I was the managing editor at Stars and Stripes and can tell you that Pete Hegseth is the first SecDef I am aware of to be openly booed by military families on a military base. 📌This is the most significant pushback I have seen to this administration's racist, hostile initiatives.

Deeply satisfying read. Especially fun when Megan asks if Anna wants to know how many members of congress didn't take private equity money last election cycle and Anna says "no."

Many have asked how it could cost $17.5 million to confine just over 100 unhoused people to a warehouse for 90 days. The answer? The company running the facility got a no-bid contract and has political ties to Louisiana governor Jeff Landry—who invoked emergency powers to detain these men and women
