i think most white americans who have never been Policed don’t realize that you are always already a criminal. the second anyone with institutional power believes you to be, needs you to be, or wants you to be a criminal you are and always have been.

As an atty who used to represent kids in school discipline & court & had to deal w/"gang task forces" all the time, I do want ppl to know it's always been easy for the govt to accuse/label someone (esp a kid) as a gang member w/no real evidence & then treat them as such ongoing—that part is not new.

Person who is very much vested in the status quo: “oh it’s much more complex than that, certainly there’s no easy fix”

what a time to have absolutely zero financial assets

the last few days has been a reminder that people really want to believe that not only is there this real thing called a “criminal,” and that if they need to, anyone can just prove they aren’t one

A bunch of transbians absolutely cackling at the idea that autistic people never go on a date.

We need to coordinate our bargaining demands around protections for trans people and immigrants.

Ok fine I did it myself

I have made exactly one (1) good financial decision in my life.

I love ads where celebrities lament not being recognized. Just like us!

“Your abuse would be more successful if you bathed more often.”

DC Book Crawl! Yessssssssssssssss!

I’d bet RFK doesn’t pay taxes.

A key tool of power is convincing people that better things aren’t possible. And it’s not true.

The Physics Department is under just as much of a threat as Black Studies. We're all in this together.

Don’t think a push to target and cripple nonprofits can’t or won’t happen—it’s a key part of the playbook.

It works. The government here largely works. Because we are so spoiled by how well it works, we are letting a fool convince us it is broken.

Criminalization is at the heart of the things you oppose, so you should oppose that too.

do people not realize that the past four decades of US policing legislation PR and practice have made the allegation that someone is a “gang member” entirely subject to the whims of the state

This is absolutely genius

No one deserves detention. No one deserves deportation. No one deserves prison. No one deserves to be separated from their loved ones. No human is illegal. Free them all.

Abstraction is what keeps people disposable.

A thing about these ICE videos is that people often support or at least tolerate conditions in the abstract but recoil at having to see the violence required to maintain them.

Step 1 should be no police overtime

Guess who is co-organizing an anti-criminalization Communiversity happening in person in NYC starting in August? Are you interested in proposing a workshop or course? You can do so until 4/25. www.interruptingcriminalization.com/communiversity

I am once again begging people to realize that the law is words on paper and is not self executing. "That's illegal" is not and has never been synonymous with "that's impossible" or "that can't be done." "That's illegal" means "you might get in trouble for that depending on who you are."

Biden’s antisemitism envoy on deporting students: “I’m coming down right smack dab in the middle…I don’t oppose many of the things that are being done. I just wish they would be done more deftly.”
