The FBI has been pushing junk forensics for years. And when actual scientists call the bureau out, it gets cranky. theintercept.com/2025/02/06/f...

The ads write themselves and should start right now. Burn it into people's minds so they never forget.

Patel is an unqualified extremist who probably perjured himself, receives money from Russia & China, and has made clear he will weaponize the FBI to pursue Trump's political enemies. The only Trump appointee who did not make is Gaetz, seemingly for being an insufficiently loyal Republican.

This editorial, "Secrecy, deception erode public trust," has been taken offline. But here's an archived version, preserved by @archive.org for everyone to read: webcf.waybackmachine.org/web/20250219...

Back then she tried to be credible and work in MSM and on the right -- it is a very hard line to walk. She failed and went over among the wackadoos.

Chancellor Crystal Hines Martin of Hinds County, Mississippi has issued a prior restraint order so ludicrously unconstitutional it’s only consistent with deliberate misconduct or abject ignorance of the relevant law. Disgraceful and lawless. /1

Kansas officials are hiding who is infected with a record TB outbreak in the state due to fear of stigmatizing them. The public can't embrace and help them either if they are in the dark. www.kansascity.com/opinion/opn-...

Why the government is nothing like a business, and why Trump and Musk are "the last people who should be in charge." That and much more in today's pundit roundup from @demfromct.bsky.social. www.dailykos.com/stories/2025...

My prediction is that since most of these outlets comment on news rather than report it they won't get much value out of these placements after the initial round of gloating is done. www.axios.com/2025/02/18/c...

My latest on the year-old TB situation in Kansas www.kansascity.com/opinion/opn-...

Math is hard

"Hedonic adaptation" and "lumpenbourgeoisie" are terms people should learn more about

A nationally record breaking TB outbreak has gripped Kansas for a year, but woke public health officials still won't say where it is coming from. Why?

I hadn't thought of this.

I'll be joining Alex Witt on MSNBC at 330 ET. If you have objections to watching TV news, you know the drill:

Thank you, David!

Trump and Republicans step in to save USAID's welfare for American farmers. www.kansascity.com/opinion/opn-...

Seems rather reasonable, no?

I’m thinking, maybe Americans should stop going to Russia and giving Vladimir Putin a steady stream of new hostages

“I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

Good point

READ Danielle Sassoon's letter to AG Pam Bondi, via @nytimes.com: "Rather than be rewarded, Adams's advocacy should be called out for what it is: an improper offer of immigration enforcement assistance in exchange for a dismissal of his case." static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics...

If universities didn't act like a propaganda and fundraising arm of the Democratic Party, Republicans wouldn't be attacking them. www.kansascity.com/opinion/opn-...

Finally, someone with integrity. Good for her.

Trump may be moving towards disobeying court orders that go against him. This is a dire threat to the constitutional system, that must be headed off: reason.com/volokh/2025/...

Tulsi Gabbard was the one Cabinet nominee I thought Republicans may have the spine to vote against. She will endanger national security and act as a tool of Russia. Even Mitch McConnell voted against her. The guardrails are off. The GOP will do whatever Trump wants. www.cnn.com/2025/02/12/p...

This is not bad, this is disastrous. I wouldn't want to be Poland right now.

“If Democrats did assume the worst in 2021 and nuked the independent judiciary, Trump would now have the ability to pack the Court with complete toadies who would probably go as far as voiding the 22nd Amendment and allowing him to become President-for-Life” washingtonmonthly.com/2025/02/12/i...

New from me at @cato.org: I explore the disturbing implications of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) investigation of San Francisco radio station KCBS over its coverage of a Jan. 26 federal immigration raid. /1

My colleague makes a reasonable point, but Kansas Universities might want to look in the mirror and ask why Republicans treat them as an enemy: www.opensecrets.org/orgs/univers...

When the penny got the ax, I saw a tiny coppery glint of hope for the Trump administration www.kansascity.com/opinion/opn-...

Good Lord, Pete, when you focus on gender terminology it is not a distraction from safety, but when they do it, it is? Do you know what a hack you are?

Shunning people is not the route to victory when half the country supports Trump.
