My bête noire are those touchy feely ads with a breathy voice speaking far too slowly extolling fantastical alleged consequences of purchasing this particular product. The visuals have dreamy 20 year olds moving in soft focus through sunlit fields of ripe wheat. 🤮

“Michaelia Cash revs up the crowd of supporters, introducing Dutton as the next prime minister of Australia. Dutton tells the crowd 3 May will be a “sliding doors moment” saying: “After the election I will marry Chris Martin and start my own online well-being brand - ‘pood’”. (Partly untrue).

Am I totally alone in thinking that having cups of coffee delivered to your house using a drone is totally stupid? www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Of the 400m tonnes of plastic produced over the course of 2022, just under 38m tonnes (9.5%) was produced from recycled plastic, 98% of the remaining 362m tonnes was produced from fossil fuels, predominantly coal and oil. The marketing guff about recycling of plastics is just that. Guff.

Kemi Badenoch … Never knowingly understood. A victory of confidence over coherence. To boldly rant where no competent politician has ranted before. Madder than a mad thing being mad. “Letters to the 1922 Committee” about to trend. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Coming soon from Niall Ferguson (probably): "I was wrong to say that I was glad that Donald Trump had beaten Kamala Harris after I'd said that I was wrong to say that Donald Trump was a tyrant. Stay tuned for more developments". www.thetimes.com/article/a580...
