I thought Musk was a fraud starting ~2017, when The Boring Company touted 'tunnel transport' pipedream specifically to hamper Calif high-speed rail. Never went anywhere finance.yahoo.com/news/seven-y... Then anyone on Xitter saw... (Was always against Iraq war www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...)

It's hard to call out specific affronts. But: Nauseating for Trump, Musk, unqualified Hegseth to target GEN CQ Brown. —Fighter squad command, multiple cmnd posts; —130 hrs combat-fighter, 3000 flying hrs; —Multiple grad degrees; —AF chief of staff, Chmn JCS www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

in the trump administration, “merit” is pronounced “white” like how strom thrumond said it.

democracy requires your courage.

The backlash is starting and in my view will be enormous. www.politico.com/newsletters/...

Hitler thought the same.

This is climate arson, yes, but also the entire value proposition of Tesla, the reason for its insane stock price, is that it would end up the Amazon of electric cars: the only real game in town. Killing off non-Tesla electric car infrastructure is a gift to Musk.

Socialism for me and my wealthy friends; ruthless and brutal capitalism for thee. Good luck.

Another scoop from @peard33.bsky.social: DOGE installed Tom Krause at the Treasury Department. He's keeping his job as the CEO of a software company that has millions of dollars in federal contracts, including with the Treasury Department www.wired.com/story/krause...

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

How many more MAGA-ites will go on TV to defend this? Note that even open neo-Nazis, such as avowed antisemite and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, said Bannon’s salute was “getting a little uncomfortable" and "a little excessive" even for them apnews.com/article/stev...

Americans do not like Nazis or cancer or not getting their mail. Just sayin—this is hugely unpopular stuff

So good

calling zelenskyy a dictator and trying to force an election during wartime only furthers putin’s agenda and is an abdication of american leadership on the global stage. the usa has become the largest source of geopolitical uncertainty in the world. www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-a...

french far-right leader jordan bardella canceled his remarks at cpac today reason given: “one of the speakers allowed himself, out of provocation, a gesture referring to nazi ideology.”

A truly generous and courageous move by this 18-y-o and his mom to participate in this story—for all those who aren’t able to be on the record about what care for trans kids means to them and their families

the whole 2020-2024 era of “dems shouldnt aggressively use the levers of power bc then republicans will do the same thing when theyre elected” sure looks dumb as dog shit right now huh

Biden 2021: It would violate norms to fire Louis DeJoy. Trump 2025: The United States Postal Service belongs to me now.

Um

Such hostile nonsense from Americans in power just now. I wish we would listen to people who have suffered for reporting the truth, like Stanislav Aseyev, combat veteran and survivor of a Russian torture camp.

China seems to have used Llama to build an AI surveillance tool to collect anti-China social media posts, and presumably intimidate at least some of the people who posted them. The power of open weights www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/t...

europe’s best shot at leverage with trump (& helping save ukraine): seize the $300 billion in frozen russian assets and transfer them 1) to rebuild ukraine 2) to buy american arms to defend ukraine. there’s nothing more america first than using russian money to pay for american defense systems.

So I guess that Stool Pigeon they found deep in the org chart at Social Security is already taking a meat axe to the place at DOGE's direction on his first day running the place. Buckle up everybody.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

Try explaining to someone who hasn't been keeping up with politics that the apparatus of US government has been taken over by a small band of nazis.

couldn’t have said it better myself

In addition to Congress being the place that makes the laws, pretty key thing, the constitution explicitly says Congress gets to create the postal system. It’s not left implied that that comes under law making generally. The President has no power to unilaterally abolish it and move it to commerce.
