I understand why people believe that stuff - this comes from one of the most egregious parts of the whole story, which, more on that later. But it's just not true, the misconception is both insulting to professional staff toxic to our civic culture.

This is why I like to go in person to city council meetings when I have something spicy to say I basically always edit on the fly because yeah, makes a difference when they’re looking at you!
