By trying to redefine citizenship by fiat, my dad was a legal permanent resident married to a US citizen but would be hard to prove now. He’s been dead for years. We’re all at risk. If people can be seized & whisked to a foreign prison, I’d have no chance to prove my citizenship.

I’m getting excited. I’ve applied to become a volunteer crisis line worker. With all the crazy, being another person answering those in crisis seems more important than ever. Interview went well and references seem solid. I can’t save the world, but I can help one person at a time and that adds up.

I'm doing some more volunteering, & I was asked about my background in the realm of Classical Music & I remember my Dad's radio show he put on for decades. He began with "This is Matt _______ coming to you from San Francisco...." I had a troubled relation with Dad, but I still fondly recall that.

Since changing my name, one of my US banks, I sent them a form, they it sent back. I corrected & resubmitted. When I followed up they sent me a different form. I filled it out. When I followed up, they finally sent a replacement debit card, to an old address with my old name on it!

Super fun night. Helped to facilitate a weekly trans peer support on zoom and had 3 guests at my apartment as no one need be alone on Christmas Eve on my watch. Made a fabulous supper. And there was much rejoicing.
