Some photos of mom at Carlsbad Caverns. The scale is massive. The Big Room alone is the size of six football fields. It has bottomless pits, caverns for miles above and—like most US National Parks—a small staff to keep the thousands of visitors safe and informed. Teachers we relied on in the dark. 💙

Here is a bad selfie at Yosemite, and a photo of my mom, who has since passed away. When she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, we went on a bucket list road trip. Being surrounded by towering nature helped heal us. In that moment—we were one and vast. Did you feel it too? I ❤️ US National Parks.
