This Elon & Doge mural in Brunswick remained untouched for a long time, but in the last month it’s frequently been graffitied. It has also been completely painted over, but it has an anti-graffiti coating and paint doesn’t quite stick.

On paper, React + Relay combo feels like a good way to architect your data flow but in practice it makes things really clunky and complicated – especially unit testing is painful.

Mark Butler says LNP promising not to touch Medicare is like 2013 when they promised “no cuts to health” & then slashed hospital funding under Dutton who also “tried to abolish B/Billing altogether” “Why on earth would u trust the man who created this mess in the first place?”🔥

Anybody who believes Dutton will match Albanese's Medicare promise "dollar for dollar" - I've got a bridge to sell - Medicare is a complete anathema for the LNP - it's so far out of their increasingly Trumpian ideology it's almost at the ISS.

Gonna go out on a pretty solid limb here. Dutton if elected, will do nothing to improve bulk billing. Last time he tried to destroy it. #auspol

Jane Hume grilled on Sky News after insisting on keeping secret from public what Liberals plan to cut if elected inc for more expensive Nuclear but ends up conceding Renewables through Future Made in Australia & investment in Housing are both on the chopping block. What a plan🤦‍♂️

Posted by Dr Helen Fry on X. #OTD 22 Feb 1943: anti-Nazi political activist Sophie Scholl is executed, aged 21. She went to the guillotine and said: "Such a fine, sunny day, and I have to go... What does my death matter, if through us, thousands of people are awakened and stirred to action”

Hello fellow Aussies

This morning on ABC RN Breakfast, Sally Sara's first qn to Treasurer @jimchalmers.bsky.social was this: "Will this rate cut get Labor over the line at the election?" srsly. Yet Sara failed to even mention THIS 👇 fun fact. #auspol #ausecon #AusVotes2025

Inflation was 6.1% when the Coalition was kicked out of office. Labor has brought it down to 2.4% #auspol

You've been murdered, who do you want on the case?

“Turn on reactions. Microsoft Teams has turned off Reaction effects. Click 📹 and select Reactions to add more impact to your gestures.” Thanks Teams for telling me this about 789 times in a day.

Australian 2025 Election Australian politics is basically a two-party relay race where the ALP and LNP take turns dropping the baton, then blame each other for the fall. While the rest of us are all stuck watching & paying for the tickets. We all deserve better. #auspol #WTFAlbo #DuttonTheDud

The best thing Australians can do about Trump is not to vote for Dutton . Dutton will support Trump and Rinehart every step of the way . Put the LNP last for the best interests of Australians, future generations and the planet .

Melbourne did it again. The temperature dropped from 36 to 26 and now it feels cold because the wind is blowing from southwest.

What’s his beef against USAID in particu….oh. Wow.

Bruce MacKinnon, the editorial cartoonist at the Halifax Chronicle-Herald, drew this last November. No newspaper would print it. It now deserves an outing.

Actually very important question: does the Internet Archive have a plan for when these raids target them?

Having watched with growing alarm the developments of the last 24 and 36 hours in Washington, I thought I’d take a stab at how the US media would cover this story if it was happening in a foreign country. Here’s that story that should be written this weekend: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/musk-s-jun...

I requested my Threads profile to get deleted. Instagram shall go next, but I’ll wait a couple more weeks until my friend has given birth!

While Australians watch the US fall into utter chaos and self-destruction, please remember that Dutton models himself on Trump.

This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942. I know. I was there in those camps.

I don’t have a lot of advice to give, but never vote for a rich person.

A clever and witty person on reddit is responsible for this 👇

Never again? My @smh @theage cartoon.

It’s the Leopards Eating People’s Faces party

Australian voters, Coles and Woolworths have joined forces with Kmart and Costco to publicly support the ARA's application to the Fair Work Commission to scrap overtime, evening and weekend penalty rates, and work breaks. If this goes through it will be used as a precedent everywhere. #AusVotes2025

Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide? And the leg of Perth in the back.

Almost one in 10 people use the same four-digit PIN www.abc.net.au/news/2025-01...

The long weekend was very much welcome, thanks to Australia Day happening on a Sunday and the awesome public holiday substitute system if they fall on the weekend. Yesterday, we went to the beach in Torquay and today we cleaned up the whole house because it was 40°C outside. Tomorrow, back to work.

I think people need to be reminded of what Liberal /National Gov. did to Medicare over their time in office

Was it an anti-Murdoch shirt though? How can we truly know? Did anyone ask Tame? Maybe it was just an awkward gesture or a controversial controversy

Elon Musk does a literal Nazi salute and the media think it’s a bit “awkward” or “odd”. Grace Tame wears a t-shirt summing up most Australians’ feelings about Murdoch and cue the outrage from Rupert’s media minions. Fuck Murdoch indeed. #fuckmurdoch
