Weird how many voters still ended up choosing the guy who ran on kicking out brown/black people and cheap eggs.

This article reflects what I've been seeing. NBC news has focused all week on people hurt by Trump's actions. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/infle...

If only there were previous warnings about how Trump would behave during his second term...

I actually detected a note of genuine alarm on NBC news tonight. I'm sure they'll return to their "Dems say Republicans are bad, who knows" style of reporting, but the tone was definitely different.

So the next Dem president will have to rebuild the government from scratch, along with the IT infrastructure. Cool, cool, cool.

IMO people aren't placing nearly enough emphasis on these upcoming House special elections. We have a very real chance of taking back the house *in the near term* which means we can *actually wield Congressional power* the way people claim to want!

Some food for thought.

The greatest political scandal today is not what Trump is doing. It is the fact that congressional Republicans have given up their role in the constitutional system as a check on the executive branch. If we are in a constitutional crisis, it is as much on Mike Johnson and John Thune as anyone else.

It usually takes an economic sledgehammer, though.

A melon party? Oh no.

Fine, y'all got me. I'm going to start watching Severance tonight.

I can't think of a better example of a useless whiny do-something poster with influence than this guy. I've held my tongue, but the willful cluelessness is getting to be too much.

So you haven't actually watched the news. Dems HAVE been on cable news every day, held townhalls, protested. The sad reality is that most regular people aren't feeling the effects of these decisions yet, so they're ignoring it.

I'm going to relax this weekend by watching horror movies. Thode jump scares are preferable to real-life headlines.

Senate rules are arcane, but jesus, the national amnesia about Reid's nuclear option eliminating filibuster of nominations is something else.

EXTREMELY heartening development that NIH unfroze funds and the websites were put back. still overall DOGE running amok is a problem, but they may have calculated that ignoring court orders actually hurts them with media coverage

NEW: ProPublica has identified nine additional Musk-affiliated staffers. A former staffer at Boring Company now has an official role at DOGE in the Executive Office of the President. A former X employee now works in the General Services Administration.

There are over 55 pending lawsuits against the Trump Administration's executive orders – including action on DOGE, ending birthright citizenship, and gutting USAID. @HouseDemocrats and I will keep supporting lawsuits that protect the American people and hold Trump, Elon Musk, and DOGE accountable.

Rachel Scott on ABC news did a good job trying to get a straight answer from Elon, though he kept evading. I had to abandon NBC and their "Democrats say..." framing of every criticism.
