Jim Jordan is scheduled to be on Matt Gaetz’s OANN show tonight.

I just noticed that WH spox Leavitt said today that Iran was “only weeks away from being able to produce a nuclear weapon” when we bombed them. I’m not even sure what that means exactly, but have we heard that from the WH prior to today?

This post, and its hundreds of comments & quote-tweets, celebrates the economic and cultural devastation being done to large parts of Los Angeles b/c residents (legal and non-) are terrified of being seized and detained by federal agents.

There’s a life insurance ad where the wife is worried that if husband dies she & the kids will end up homeless and destitute, and he whines yeah but there’s all these forms and I’d need a doctor visit… and I always think: woman you don’t need easier insurance you need to LEAVE THIS LOSER’S ASS NOW

Stephen Miller says “unchecked migration” got Mamdani the win. Adds that migration has ruined a once-great NYC, which is an interesting read on NYC’s history.

Let Trump insist that we obliterated Iran’s nuclear program. Otherwise he might use a nuke to finish the job. My new column: open.substack.com/pub/goodpoli...

Over on X, on my List of Right Wing Marketplace accounts, there is quite a competition for most offensive comment about Mamdani winning the Democratic primary

MUST-READ thread 🧵 on ICE detention conditions:

Seems very super normal for June, carry on dismantling all federal climate mitigation programs

I talked about those GOP pollsters and the polling averages in our GP/BP pod out today - plus @juliaazari.bsky.social and @dbernstein.bsky.social said all kinds of smart things, as they always do. The White House and MAGA media spent yesterday branding the Israel-Iran conflict as the “12 Day War,” like it had ended, which a ceasefire doesn’t mean. Definitely less use of that term today.

Forget about intelligence tho

Big blow to Cong. Steve Lynch, defeated for Ranking Member on Oversight Committee per reports.

“[Iran and Israel] don’t know what the fuck they’re doing.” —President Trump to media scrum this morning

We really don’t talk enough about the contempt this administration has for Latinos

SCOTUS did what now

First impression: this retaliatory attack is in effect a de-escalation; intended to allow internal face-saving without forcing a US response. We’ll see.

Ah but what if you’re a college that wants access to people who have access to wealth

Re the whereabouts of Irans 60% enriched uranium, here’s some observations from the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (Spoiler: if they moved it they could maybe enrich it to weapons-grade in a week)

Kind of wild that in the final 24 hours or so of preparation for war with Iran, the Vice President took time to travel all the way to Los Angeles to publicly make a racial slur against a United States Senator

MIGA huh

FWIW in the Situation room photos released by the WH last night, Susie Wiles is the only woman shown of ~12 individuals. Rubio is the only apparent person of color.

They made some persuasion attempts this morning, but not much of a full-court press, no attempt to present or reference evidence, and frankly not even a very consistent message other than “success,” “not war,” and “if they retaliate we’ll do more.” …

Practice, practice, practice

I’m trying not to constantly compare to 2003 but John Bolton is on TV and social media calling for regime change in Iran.

wut

None of the major Sunday interview shows have announced updated guest lists for tomorrow since the bombing (and I don’t believe any admin officials were already scheduled). Suggests to me that the WH did not have plans to put someone out for regular media tmw. We’ll see if that changes.
