The reaction to Trent by the Anfield crowd reminds me of the of when the fans walked out in protest over ticket prices. Hopefully Slot learns a similar lesson and realizes continuing to play Trent will only serve to continue to aggravate things.

Leaving Liverpool when they are at their peak by running down your contract to go to Madrid shouldn’t be easy or accepted by the fans. What did he and Slot expect? Fans on bended knee? At least a pigs head didn’t end up on the field.

@knoxharrington.bsky.social makes a fair case that Chelsea making the CL is bad for LFC, but I’d argue that Newcastle is a the more immediate threat. If they get the extra spending power to get the 2 or 3 starters they need, they arguably have the starting 11 to rival City Arsenal and even LFC.
