We can always expect more (cough, environment) but things could be a LOT worse. And they WILL be a lot worse for most Australians under a conservative government - Conservatives have a proven track record of atrocious economic management - tho' they are great at making a few rich folks even richer.

Large flock of yellow-tailed black cockatoos are having a great time destroying the neighbour's pine tree. The road is covered in deconstructed pine cones. Also enjoying the hakeas we planted for them.

What's the process of diverting public funds and assets into private pockets called? Seems to be a major model for profiteering, I mean, running a business. Especially in coal mining. We need to stop subsidising failing corporates and global polluters.

Evening visitors peering in the window!

Brilliant summary - don't fall for the bullshit and let's go for the clean, green, cheap energy. It's a no brainer (unless you or your mates own a coalmine).

First trip to the beach was a big hit!

Happy day! I managed to turn off the horrendous AI Ass. on Adobe Acrobat. Click on Disable New Acrobat in your File menu (and maybe also unclick the Generative AI checkbox under Preferences). Yay - no more files running at snail's pace and making my computer overheat. #NoAI

So after 20+ yrs (and 12 books) it's time for a new office chair (left). I hate getting rid of stuff before it's broken, but this one (right) broke me first. My back has had enough. Love the new soft seat, adjustability and lumbar supprt. Plus it doesn't squeak every time I move. #writinglife #book

Karma - doesn't feel very good to have your work stolen from you, does it?

Worst economic management every time. Everyone is worse off under a conservative government - except for a handful of their rich mates.

Found this tiny bearded dragon looking listless on a hot dry day. Barely 10cm long - not more than a few weeks old. Brought this one inside for a drink, which seemed to perk him up and released him back outside. Hope to see it fully grown in a year sunning itself on log. #auswildlife #lizard

This good news was buried deeply on the ABC News site. Share it around. #AusPol

Look who met us as at the gate today! Gorgeous boy keen to get to his favourite tree on the other side of the fence. #koala #wildlifeencounter #australianwildlife
