#UkraineStrong πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

The #Brexit referendum had a fatal flaw: voters couldn’t have any idea what they were voting for. Even Tory minister Philip Hammond admitted it before the vote. Watch this video exposing how the government knew - and did it anyway. Full report on my social media. #EUReferendum #Politics

Great news, but don't you just love the framing ?πŸ‘‡ There 𝑖𝑠 a world where this subtitle could read "The agreement would allow tens of thousands of young 𝐁𝐫𝐒𝐭𝐒𝐬𝐑 citizens to live & work in the 𝐄𝐔 for 3 yrs" but it's not, alas, one the UK media will ever inhabit ...

Without friends

Reminds me of run-up to the referendum when the BBC's "Brexit fact-checker" defined "free movement" as "the right of EU citizens to live and work freely in the UK" No mention of the opposite, despite millions of us having benefited from it. They did end up changing it, but hey ...

Who really made the #Brexit decision? The 2016 referendum was advisory, and the Supreme Court ruled that only Parliament could decide. Yet, MPs never voted on whether the UK should leave the #EU. My full investigation at tinyurl.com/m2pwus92 and summaries on all my social media today. Share!

I'm afraid I haven't been able to listen to my usual favourites of @therestpolitics.bsky.social The Rest is Politics (UK and US) this year. Partly because I've been in hospital but mostly because it's all too Trumpy. I've retreated to @theresthistory.bsky.social instead for my own peace of mind.

This is, by some distance, the most unforgivably stupidest thing the government is doing. An easily sellable proposal, which would actually help Brits, and unlocks meaningful negotiation. Irrational and anti-growth.

When something is a success, people like to associate themselves with it. So it's noticeable how quiet the Brexiters are. inews.co.uk/opinion/brex...

Yay! πŸ‰

Incredible story. Grimly predictable that the people who most vocally attacked the centre-left during the Corbyn years were secretly in talks with the right.

Corbyn was and is a disgrace on Brexit. Money from Vote Leave, pushing to leave even before all the votes were counted, even Cummings says he offered Corbyn help. Man for the workers? My arse! Ideologue, more like - and screw the consequences.

5 yrs on, only 11% think Brexit's a success Immigration tripled NHS problems worse Loss of OUR free movement Zero "fantastic" trade deals - just endless "resets" and if you think Trump won't eat πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§alive, you're still as clueless as you were when you voted for all the above⬆️

We celebrated Brexit’s Birthday in the village yesterday. Cliff from the pub took out his sovereignty & we gasped as we watched it grow. My good wife Bunty flashed her sunlit uplands. And we feasted on clams & pints of wine! Later on we burnt effigies of Alan Sugar & Piers Morgan. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ₯³
