There are some extremely cruel and heartless people at work, trying to destroy any social supports for anyone who not a billionaire.

Once we start putting a numerical value on a human life, we are lost. And evil has won. Let me be clear: every human life is of an incalculable worth. Each of you is precious beyond words, beyond thought, beyond reckoning. When men say otherwise, the humanity they deny is their own.

Tech bros cheering on the cuts to grant funding built businesses and wealth on the back of decades of university R&D work. Much of that knowledge was given away to the public. This is basic pulling-up-the-ladder nonsense via rewriting history. They owe the public, not the other way around.

Sometimes self-government just means elections. And sometimes it means recognizing the deeper dignity and meaning of what it means to be a people. That means speaking up, standing out, and protesting. We can only be free together. snyder.substack.com/p/the-logic-...

“Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
