Also almost no one gets rich writing books. It's not the public's fault for not understanding this. Publishing is a black box by design. But let me assure you that if you average it out 90% of authors are making well below minimum wage for each book.

Watching Dog Man with the kids for our Friday movie and I, uh, was not anticipating this many RoboCop references.

if constitutional rights only apply to individuals or states that have sued for relief, you don't actually have constitutional _rights_, you have _privileges_ that can sometimes (but not always) be secured for you by your lawyer

IT'S HEART OF THE WYRDWOOD RELEASE DAY! This is the last in the FORSAKEN books, the one where you both go , 'WTF, RJ?' and at the same time think, 'Well, of course! It's all so obvious now!' So if deeply strange folk horror fantasy and people working to be better is your jam might be for you.

There’s tons of great stuff in The Radiant King, and the ending is one that blew my mind with its moxie.

It's finally here: LAUNCH DAY for The Last Vigilant. My first foray into epic fantasy, this book has been a long time in the making. Come join the adventures of an elderly sleuth and her hard-as-nails companion in The Kingdom of Oak & Steel. OUT NOW!

What a lovely review. www.grimdarkmagazine.com/review-the-r...

Deep Blue is 30 years old and was capable of defeating chess grand champions. It could be housed in a single cabinet. ChatGPT spans untold data centers devouring massive amounts of electricity and it got its ass whipped by an 8 bit gaming console from the 1970s.

They have made the world living hell for no reason whatsoever. People will ask why this happened in a decade and there will be tremendous effort to make it more complicated than “they were evil, stupid, and bored”

Aaaand now my AC for my house is leaking coolant. Fun. That's gonna be a painful bill...

Pain, suffering, and panic after being told by your editor that marketing is having second thoughts.

Amazing: MIT researchers revealed how ChatGPT etc are destroying our brains and booby-trapped the report to expose those who want to use AI to ostensibly summarize the results. t.co/JXeTALBPds

Trans kids: you're loved. I know it doesn't make it better. But know that you are so loved by those who used to be you. Stay alive if only to ensure that there is a reckoning for those who have tried to kill you. Stay alive if only to spite them. Stay alive for your future, which is not yet dead.

My heart goes out yet again to trans kids everywhere just trying to live their lives. You deserve so much better than this.

Listening to so much Expedition 33 soundtrack has completely thrown my music recommendations on Deezer for a loop. Half the artists its recommending are now French, and the other half, video game soundtracks.

Please let us turn these shitty AI summaries off. They're so worthless if not wrong. Just trying to find out who voices a character in a game and Google's just confidently out here stating they don't even exist. Garbage tech.

Things you love to see.

Ok, *this* is best comparative stat, members of media: The DC Pride parade one week ago had a bigger turnout.

it's giving

“A deranged maniac impersonated a police officer and killed lawmakers but if you’re an immigrant be sure you immediately comply with plain clothes people who won’t identify themselves telling you to get in a van”, what a fuckin country

Dear News Networks: The term for a “targeted politically motivated shooting” of a currently serving legislator is “Assassination.”

Terry Moran, unshackled, says what should be said. Standing up for the truth and democracy in an era where the truth and democracy are polarized means you risk being labeled a partisan and losing audience share. So be it. That’s what it means to have values. open.substack.com/pub/terrymor...
