Bobby seems pretty high during this interview with David Letterman, but the performance is on point, 43 years ago today. #Deadheads

42 years ago, the Grateful Dead played the second of only four shows in my home state of Vermont. This one offers the first performance of “Maybe You Know.” #Deadheads

When I think about the Grateful Dead and Europe ‘72, and specifically shows in England, I tend to think about the Empire Pool shows that opened the tour and the Lyceum shows that closed it. But, I tend to overlook this show from Newcastle, 53 years ago today. #Deadheads

I’ll check out the profiles of my new followers and they’ll say something like, “Organic farmer, sculptor, living in Thailand, check out my music on SoundCloud” and I’ll look at the posts and every single post is about politics.

The band was a lean and mean five-piece, but that didn’t stop them from playing a big, expansive version of “Good Lovin’” on this day 53 years ago. #Deadheads

Whenever a topic is trending and I have no clue what it is and I don’t even recognize the word, it’s usually about European soccer.

Here’s some pretty nice footage of the Grateful Dead playing the Golden Gate Panhandle, 58 years ago today. #Deadheads

Here’s a nice Betty Board from 50 years ago today. #Deadheads

It takes a little while to get the sound just exactly perfect, but when they do, they sound great. 54 years ago today. #Deadheads

52 years ago, the Grateful Dead launched their first European tour. This hour-long sequence from the second set is a glimpse of what would unfold over the next six weeks. #Deadheads

03/08/08 is my 05/08/77.

8 years ago, the first night of four nights that is among my favorite run of shows I’ve attended. Great venue, small but not oversold. The band was back and on fire after Rob’s successful cancer battle. The encore - Karma Police>Interstellar Overdrive>Awesome Gary - was amazing.

45 years ago, the Grateful Dead played Saturday Night Live. #Deadheads

Just came back from the gym to find this in my driveway. Sign of spring?

No need to wait until Sunday for this recording of Jerry Garcia with Legion of Mary from 50 years ago today.

This show from 54 years ago today was among the first tapes I ever got as a kid and I damn near wore it out listening to it in my Sony Sport Walkman as I walked back and forth to school. #Deadheads

All the tariffs are doing is driving me to buy an import before the price goes up. I’d planned to buy later this summer, allowing me to save for a few more months so I could put more money down, finance less, take out a shorter-term loan and get a lower interest rate. Instead, I’m buying now.

43 years ago, the Grateful Dead played the Scope, a venue I’d never ever heard of until this morning. Only time playing this venue. This recording starts a little rough but transitions to soundboard at about 12 minutes. #Deadheads

I’m not saying I am free of all vice, but I am really glad I never feel the urge to gamble. I just saw an ad on my local TV pushing the Vermont Lottery’s brand-new $30 scratch-off ticket. Between this and constant ads for Draft Kings, I’m thinking Vermont needs an intervention.

This is such a good show. The “Here Comes Sunshine” is really special. 51 years ago today. #Deadheads

If the opener sounds weird, it’s because the Grateful Dead offered up an April Fool’s Day prank by switching up their instruments, on this day 45 years ago. #Deadheads

Here’s a show I’ve previously overlooked, 51 years ago today. Still hearing music for the first time … #Deadheads

Ice storm outside, but inside, Tessa has no worries. #CatLife

This is why I dislike this game. Clearly, these four words are related. Refer to the alt text for more thoughts on this subject.

29 years ago, I walked downtown to see Aquarium Rescue Unit. While waiting in line, this really weird guy started telling me about how the opening act, who I’d never heard of, would blow my mind. He was right. This was my first moe. show, and I’ve been the weird guy ever since.

45 years ago, John Belushi joined the Grateful Dead on “U.S. Blues.” #Deadheads
