Good morning The Grimoire devs asked me to edit a character profile into alignment with the rest of our profiles, and I accidentally, maybe, just a little bit added a small, tiny, extra 3000 words to a 5000 word document? I think I drank too much of the hyper fixation juice.

I would very much like it if the world could pause while my migraines and mental health disasters passed.

New post on the Center for Immersive Arts blog! cfia.org/unmasking-th... I digitized the short documentary Unmasking the Masquerade by Ryan Slavinsky, featuring Vampire: the Masquerade LARP players in the Midwest in the early 2000s, plus behind-the-scenes footage of the community in their element

Just shared early access to an upcoming blog post on the Center for Immersive Arts Patreon! Thanks to Patreon support, I digitized a short documentary and behind the scenes footage from 2004 of midwestern LARPers playing Vampire: the Masquerade: patreon.com/centerforimm...

Finally finished my prelim proposals first draft. Dear God I feel like an entire epoch as passed in the time it took. Once it's at final draft I might share some specific bits and bobs.

While I'm very here for starter packs as a concept, I wish we could choose to opt out of packs we do not want to be part of. Not everyone wants to be followed by every fan community they have audience in. Some people want to curate their audience to a higher degree for their own personal needs.

Former Amazon worker here; do not cross this picket line. Don't do it. Don't even order from them (unless absolutely necessary). They're a disgusting company to work for and the reason for my knee problems that required years of physical therapy. Fuck Amazon. We stand with the workers! 👊🏻✨

Folks can we ratio this guy? I just need 3 likes to declare victory.

You know I wish you could edit posts here, because dyslexia and also, sometimes my thoughts are in a jumble and it takes a sec to get them organized enough to make sense. which is my own fault for hitting send before getting them all together XD

Posted a small update on the CFIA Patreon today — the Unforum restoration is underway! (Unforum was a part of Unfiction.com, the original forum for ARGs in the early '00s where people posted news and discussions about games, including creators discussing vocabulary and alternate reality game design)

In which I write about neurodivergent burnout and how to recover from it https://deusexmachinatio.com/blog/wrynrl4wa28i6ttn625u0jc52kef6a

"I'm making a call-out post on my bluesky.app ..." Doesn't have the same ring to it. Let's workshop some alternatives.

Hearing a lot of misgendering in response to the recent Chris Chan news. Remember, when you personally deem someone morally irrepressible and choose to disrespect their pronouns, you're perpetuating terf and conservative talking points. Can't believe I'm still explaining this to queer people.

happy scms rejection day to all who celebrate

Born to kick rocks, forced to eat them.

Slenderverse - noun A community of habitual weirdos all being stalked by your favorite really tall dude. Also: art increasingly for the queers, the neurodivergents, the chronically ill, the systems, the childhood trauma survivors, and any other maner of misfit. -- Come make shit with us.

Are we doing the "pacific northwest tree octopus" again? Cool. I liked that. Bog dolphins is honestly gold.

Apparently bluesky reminds me of early Twitter enough to let the bird in my head that screams at things he doesn't like scream at things he doesn't like again. Oh joy.

Scholars sometimes find it notable that I voraciously share artifacts through highly public channels like Internet Archive. During my PhD, another grad student once asked me why I didn't sit on everything I found so that I could be credited as the person who discovered it. Here's 3 answers.

Sarah Mcbride really has me considering if eating glass would dull the pain more seriously than I have in a decade.

This just in, belief in the folkloric is "clueless".

I have been selected to give a TedXTalk in March! I'll be talking about blurring the real and the virtual, the kind of work we do in my lab. Pretty jazzed!
