Continuing the tradition of giving out custom tokens for every convention. #scgcharlotte gets a Queen City Monarch / Treasure and a sports-themed Insect / Cat (you know I had to hit ’em with that 80’s Hornets mascot and Starter jacket vibes). I’ll be in the CZone all weekend!

Pickups for Greasefang — traded out a prerelease foil Anointed Procession for the Secret Lair kitties, and trying the new Aetherdrift duals (switched out for Ashcoat, who I was barely using and is $50! so to the buylist it goes)

Trying to decide which of these beautiful children I leave at home for #scgcharlotte and who gets to come party.

According to @moxfield.com every one of my regular decks is a 3 except my very casual Yuriko (apparently a 4 solely because Yuriko) and mono red lady Planeswalkers (because there’s some land destruction). But my Yuriko is definitely a 3, and Gal Pals is probably a 3 bc stax. Every deck is a 3.

One of the good things about playing for a decade, having a big collection, building a lot of decks, and then deciding to downsize is when you go to build a new deck you’re like 75% tricked out from the get go. I think Osgir wants those gaudy Aetherdrift First Place foil basics?

Borrowing some ideas from my five-color Zada deck for Osgir. The on-color Wisps turn my Precursor golems into a card draw factory. Reanimating Precursor with Osgir and a token doubler makes 4 PGs and 16 vanilla Golems. A Wisp targeting a Golem draws 20 cards for 1 mana.

After building a Capitoline Triad edh deck and realizing self-milling/looting to get the emblem isn’t that hard, but having a deck that has the creature density afterwards to benefit from the emblem is, I tried adding Triad to Osgir (since we’re already milling artifacts)…

Anybody going to #SCGCharlotte next month? Cause it’s only showing 56 of 300 Commander players have signed up. That’s 14 pods! Mathematically possible to play a game with nearly everyone there.

Couldn’t make #MCChicago work, but if had, my bag would be these 9, and I’d probably bring 3 to the floor every day. • Rocco Norin • Far Traveler Volo • Five-color Zada • Mono White Urborg • Arwen Counters • Stuffy Clones • Sai am the Egg Man • Rhys Deceiver of Form • Osgir Myriad

I discard Ugin’s Nexus and make two token copies with Osgir (one gets exiled to the legend rule and the Nexus’ replacement effect) I take an extra turn, but have another token Nexus on board to bin at my leisure. Does this count as “chaining extra turn spells together” if I don’t do it immediately?

Mono Green Jumbo Cactuar Helix Pinnacle

Golgari Jumbo Cactuar Mill

You don’t need to give Jumbo Trample. You just need the right land.

As for me and my house, I’m excited to add Jumbo Cactuar to my Rhys tokens deck to give Deceiver of Form another tasty target. Ancient Gold Dragon or Giant Adephages have been my favorites, but I love the idea of making an army of giant cacti. Current list moxfield.com/decks/wP2YRL...

Don’t bring that heavy backpack of 20 commander decks to the convention! It’s a trap! Leave that backpack in the hotel room, bring a smaller bag with 5 decks to the con, and rotate each day. This is the way.

Bronze Guardian with Myriad, Mycosynth Lattice, and Warstorm Surge is good, clean Magic. Oh, no! You blew up my Blade of Selves! I guess Osgir will have to make two of them since Myriad stacks.

Bracket 1: Vibes Bracket 2: Pre-Con-ish Bracket 3: Let’s Play Some Commander Bracket 4: The Wild West aka Bad cEDH Bracket 5: Trained Assassins

Okay, finally catching up to Commander 2021 things. Osgir is fun so far, especially with Cybermen Squadron. How many sad robots can we make? (Also I got to make hasty Myriad Dracos w/ Sneak Attack and Warstorm Surge. Feels good, man. And then managed The Capitoline Triad emblem!)

So much of the Brackets/Game Changers commentary is “Well, actually, what if I was an asshole? What about your carefully constructed social contract then?”

“Are y’all ok with a Rule 0 deck? Yeah? Awesome. This is my five-color Golos deck called Oops, All Game Changers…”

No Flumph on the Game Changer list? Garbage.

When designer buddies get Magic cards it makes me happy.

Forget Vehicles, I think we’re just building Oviya as big stompy Artifact Creatures. I love that you can activate her on opponents’ turns. Maybe go Cyberman Squadron so we can Myriad a Blightsteel Colossus? I’m just spitballing.

I keep seeing posts mentioning Esoteric Duplicator as a combo piece with Radiant Lotus, but it doesn’t actually work, right? (Since it targets, it’s not a mana ability, so you don’t get the mana until after the Duplicator’s trigger resolves?)

Judge! I control Doubling Season, Lattice, and Radiant Lotus. I cast Asinine Antics. My opponents control 50 creatures. I create 100 Cursed Role tokens. For each creature, I have to choose which to keep and which to put in my GY. Can I activate Lotus before making that choice?

Guess it’s time to build Osgir.

If we give Brightglass Gearhulk Myriad in a 4-player Commander pod, that’s two tutors on cast and then four tutors on attack. I’m thinking you start with Altar of the Brood and Skullclamp. GW Myriad Mill? Typical Anointed Procession and Parallell Lives stuff?

I’m gonna go grab Stuffy Doll, but fwiw Transit Mage tutors The One Ring.

“You’re really playing Ragavan in Commander?”

Arwen into Raised By Giants into Hornet Queen is one of my favorite things, but tonight I got held at bay by Nils, Discipline Enforcer taxing me.

Flumph is open for business.

You can just put holographic stickers on your Magic cards. No one can stop you.

This has never happened.

You know what they should unban? Books.
