You lazy fucks aren’t working enough.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world won’t just know peace— it’ll breathe again. No more boots on necks, bombs in skies, or borders drawn in blood. Just humanity, finally choosing heart over empire.” #Peace #Truth #Resistance #RevolutionOfLove

Today we celebrate our freedoms, and remember the incredible fortitude and determination it took to secure them. I know our ancestors work is unfinished, but if we draw on their legacy we can continue to carry the torch. Happy Juneteenth!

Let’s be blunt. China and Russia are already racing to dominate AI while we still debate if it’s even worth it. Hesitation is no option, we need to lead smart, and strong. My latest (in reply) adamkinzinger.substack.com/p/we-cant-af...

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come—and how much further we still have to go. It marks the moment freedom finally reached our people right here in Texas. Our people took what was withheld and built something powerful: resilience, pride, and a legacy we carry to this day. (1/2)

Since it is Juneteenth, I will share a lil something... My ancestors were slaves in Texas & were freed on June 19, 1865. They came together to meet with other ex-slaves & formed the Limestone County 19th of June Organization. They bought 30 acres of land on Lake Mexia.

So much for MAHA.

Today we honor Juneteenth, a reminder that freedom was fought for, not given. We must honor the past by continuing to fight every day for justice, truth, and equality.

Harriet Tubman #quilt by my Mom, Vera P. Hall, who makes quilts celebrating Black people who fought for their own freedom. This seems to be the crowd favorite of the “We Didn’t Wait for Freedom” series. Happy #Juneteenth #quilting

NEWS: In one of the first major federal prosecutions of an LA protester, the DOJ has moved to dismiss the case. Jose Manuel Mojica was accused of assaulting officers, but came forward to Guardian to recount how he was brutally attacked by agents. “I feel a huge relief. The truth always comes out."

this wonderful piece from @profmsinha.bsky.social gets to what was truly great about lincoln — his open mind and great capacity for moral growth www.theunpopulist.net/p/abraham-li...

With everything LA has gone through in the last few months (and couple of years), let's celebrate the hatching of: TEN CALIFORNIA CONDORS!!!!!!!!! Congrats to the team at the Los Angeles Zoo!!!

He was detained outside church. “He was in chains at his feet,” Alondra Sotelo-Garcia told a local news outlet about seeing her father arrested. “Shoelaces were taken off, his belt was off, he didn’t have his ring, he didn’t have his watch. Everything was taken from him.”

Edith Edmunds, who is 99 years old, the art of quilt making is inextricably linked to the Black struggle for freedom. That's why she plans to be sewing Thursday on Juneteenth.

E. Jean Carroll: This is a man who wears apricot makeup, with his hair twirled around his head like Barbara Stanwyck in Ball of Fire. I was so close—I heard almost every single thing he said. The farting—you wanted to know about that? It was a silent one… sort of.

YES!

Often called the country’s “second Independence Day,” Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of Black resilience, delayed justice, and the ongoing pursuit of true equality.

LA DODGERS just now: “This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.” Right on, Dodgers! More of this, please.

No one is better at explaining things than @petebuttigieg.bsky.social. Wishing you all a wonderful and MEANINGFUL Juneteenth! 🖤

To Alaskans:

"Peace president."

Meiselas: And now, the little engine that could—the one people said could never happen—the MeidasTouch Network has hit 5 million subscribers, 33 million views every 48 hours, more views than Fox News and any cable news network… we are so grateful to share this moment with you all.

OMG YES… say that‼️ @tarasetmayer.bsky.social nails it. Honestly, we’ve been waiting for politicians to catch up to where the people are—and it’s getting damn late!

My friend @padilla.senate.gov is exactly right: this isn't about what happened to him — it's about what could happen to anybody in America if we don't call out and stand against Trump's lawlessness and abuses of power. Trump doesn't get to play dictator in a nation of laws.

Good for them👍🏻👇🏼

This is a turning point. This is the line we draw. This is the moment history will remember — when millions stood together to say NO to Trump, Vance, Vought, Theil, and all the corrupt cronies and cult. Follow the movement. Learn what comes next. Join us at FiftyFifty.One. #FiftyFiftyOne #NoKings

“No Kings” protests by the numbers… Y’all showed up in record numbers and sent the message loud and clear. Now let’s keep that same energy and civic fire through 2026. 🔥

This sums it up perfectly

We made History!!! I’m so damn proud of each and every one of the 12.1 million folks who came out and protested. I was one of them.

Trump announced his first presidential campaign 10 years ago today. If we really want to prevent future Trumps from coming to power, we will need to address the root causes of his rise. https://youtu.be/zTQoc5Jrciw?si=YUwHCh8OvNAKdBhA

Thank you, Madam Speaker.

Mike Lee’s reprehensible behavior and comments on MN and so many other things are not just about Lee, they are a reflection of the lack of moral character of every voter in UT who put him there, & every cowardly Republican colleague and the Mormon Church who refuse to say a word.

Congress should pass the bipartisan BARK Act, my bill to save millions of pounds of perfectly good pet food from the trash and get it to the growing population of hungry shelter dogs and cats. We can do this. Let’s get it done.

BREAKING: A federal judge reversed National Institutes of Health's terminations of hundreds of critical research grants that were canceled because of their alleged connection to disfavored topics, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and gender identity. This is a major win for public health.
