Sherrod Brown just fired the first salvo in the Democrats’ populist counter-attack against Trump. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/o...

From an OpEd in today’s WSJ by Holman Jenkins - A future Trump impeachment seemed all but guaranteed by last Wednesday morning. It seems only slightly less likely now. It may even be desirable to restore America’s standing with creditors and trade partners.

Does anyone believe that Trump wasn't short selling the market earlier this week and buying the market today based on his ability to singlehandedly manipulate the direction of the market?

A thoughtful appraisal of Trump’s supposed efforts to combat anti-Semitism. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/07/o...

So much for Trump’s staunch support of Israel. Fortunately, I bought my matzah for Passover before the tariffs went into effect. forward.com/opinion/7099...

Congratulations to Vladimir Putin. Your stooge, Donald Trump, has worked tirelessly to destroy America and has succeeded beyond your expectations.

MISSING - the U.S. Constitution. Turns out the “checks and balances” we learned about in civics classes turned out to just be a theory when Congress refuses to do its job.

The lesson from yesterday's elections is that money isn't everything. Weil outspent Fine 10-1 and lost, while Musk's efforts to buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court election flopped. The message and quality of the candidate is everything.

Bret Stephens exposes the hypocrisy of the pro-Hamas demonstrators. They should be demonstrating against Hamas, which is perpetuating the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza and need to be rooted out and removed. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/01/o...

Thank you Chicago Bar Association for taking a stance on behalf of preserving the rule of law and against Trump’s campaign to subvert the law and lawyers’ efforts to stand up to his lawlessness. cbaatthebar.chicagobar.org/2025/03/28/t...

The only question to ask about what Trump is doing to Canada is cui bono - who benefits? It won’t be the U.S. The only possible beneficiary of this is Putin. His actions through his puppet Trump have weakened every alliance that stands in Putin’s way.

The road to Trump's power grab was paved by the Supreme Court and especially by Chief Justice Roberts. No wonder Trump publicly thanked him when he arrived in the Capitol to deliver his joint address. www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/202...

Destroying the auto industry both in the US and around the world will lead us into a depression www.nytimes.com/2025/03/26/b...

This NYT OpEd makes it clear that we need more ranked choice voting. If young people are turned off by party labels, ranked choice is the solution. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/26/o...

Very powerful editorial about the state of democracy in Israel. The parallels to the destruction of American democracy by Trump are unmistakable. www.timesofisrael.com/happening-no...

This is harrowing. Anyone think that Trump and Rubio will speak out about this and tell China to back off? www.wsj.com/world/china/...

I heard this story on NPR this morning and was shocked. The idea that religious organizations are anti-empathy is contrary to every religion’s tenets. www.npr.org/2025/03/22/n...

Wrong. Paul Weiss violated Rule 5.2(a)(2) of the NY Rules of Professional Conduct by entering into an agreement that restricted its right to practice. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/21/b...

The capitulation to Trump of the Paul Weiss law firm is a harbinger of how the rule of law collapsed in Germany under Hitler. commons.stmarytx.edu/lmej/vol10/i...

This may be the most shameful behavior by a law firm in the history of the United States. The German legal profession was co-opted by Hitler in this manner and we know what happened after. The NY bar authorities should immediately disbar Brad Karp for his actions. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/20/u...

Lucian Truscott makes the case that there are no guardrails to make Trump obey court orders - open.substack.com/pub/luciantr...

Trump’s enablers don’t seem to understand the reason why disregarding the court’s order halting the deportation of Venezuelans is so significant. No one doubts the government’s right to deport aliens. It was the flagrant and pretextual due process denial that was at issue.

Imagine where we would be if Nixon had done what Trump did over the weekend. Due process is fundamental to the rule of law. We are in a full-blown Constitutional crisis. open.substack.com/pub/heatherc...

Give Chuck Schumer a break. If the government had shut down, Musk would have gotten to choose which federal employees were “non-essential” and done even more damage.

Dana Milbank offered up a catalogue of horrors. Trump is the modern-day version of The Emperor's New Clothes. No one in the Republican party will stand up and admit that what Trump has done and is doing is wrecking the country. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
