Anyone here watching Yellowjackets? It's great trash. It's got vague supernatural stuff, it's got cannibalism, it's got constant on-the-nose needledrops that, combined with the quick montage editing, make it look like it's own fancam. It's like if they made Riverdale for prestige TV.

As a reader/writer of romantic VNs, not a fan of the breakdown of the genre into "romance" and "anti-romance." If I write a route that has romantic tension but it's never resolved is that anti-romance? What if it's romantic but with a sad ending? If some routes in a VN go one way and some the other?

A lot of people whose work I admire and opinions I respect are contributing to or backing this project and I don't want to be dismissive of them. But all of the posts I've seen about this project are from devs and games media folks, not from any video game players who are interested in using it.

A lot of discourse about what is the golden age of (insert artistic medium or genre here) could be avoided by reframing the golden age not as the period where the medium/genre was at its peak, but the period where it was relatively new, constantly innovating, and popular with general audiences.
