I think I have pinpointed the root cause of Donald Trumpā€˜s problem…

EASTER WISHES FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (a.k.a, the ramblings of a madman slowly slipping into the abyss)

Sale of Canadian products outpacing total sales, says Metro CEO Retailers are already seeing the ā€œbuy Canadianā€ movement pay off as consumers favour local products amid the trade war with the United States. Metro Inc. said sales of Canadian products in its stores are now outpacing total sales.

ā€œJ D Vance drops Ohio State football trophyā€ These guys can’t stop breaking things can they?

As a centrist who was thinking it was time for a change and considering Poilievre, with all the examples globally of what happens when conservative parties end up morphing into rightwing populist governments, now is not the time. However I do expect Carney to give Liberal spending a major overhaul šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦

"In the American psyche, Canada is essentially defined as a thing that’s undefined. We drive along in their blind spot … and they just swerved into us." A quote from an op-ed in the Toronto Star

Trump starts a tariff war with Canada by breaking the USMCA agreement that he brokered so he can use the money collected to fund tax cuts for the rich. Consumers on both sides end up paying more for goods. The difference is Canada is distributing what is collected back to the companies impacted.

I wonder if we will have to wait for the results of the Trump’s physical this past Friday as long as we had to wait for him to release his tax returns during his first presidential run 9 yrs. ago. Gee I can’t remember, did we ever get those? In the end it won’t matter. Transparency? I think not…

A new era of CRONEY CAPITALISM is in full swing in the USA. The White House is open for business and making no attempt to hide it.

ā€œTrump Exempts Phones, Computers, Chips From ā€˜Reciprocal’ Tariffs for China What a joke! Who blinked first? Proving once again, Trump has not thought anything through and is just shooting from the hip.

With the industrial ramp-up on the horizon in Canada as we prepare to dial back on our current trade practices with the US, I hope we don’t throw out too many of the checks and balances in place to protect our environment. It’s an easy thing to forget when everyone is worried about their wallet… šŸŒŽ

I wonder why the list of the 75 countries that were lining up to kiss Donald Trump ass has not been released yet…

Yes, I can just see the stampede when companies like Nike move their factories from Asia to the USA. Looks like just the kind ā€œhigh paying manufacturing jobā€ people will be lining up to do…

No matter the final outcome, other nations who have their feet held to the fire by the bully tactics of a economy crippling tariff war where only the USA wins & the rest suffer will never be forgotten. Canada & Mexico have learned the hard way what happens when he chooses not to honor an agreement

A 2nd unvaccinated child dies of measles in Texas, a disease eradicated 25 years ago. A growing number of anti-science, Kool-Aid drinkers choose to believe what Kennedy is peddling and ignore what their own doctors advise them. Unfortunately, the same situation is developing here in Canada. So sad

Another day at the office. Donald Trump drops his tariff bomb on the world, minus Russia, and a handful of other bad actors, and then heads off to a golf tournament for a long weekend down in Florida. Now that’s what I call a hard work man that puts his people first…

Do you think Donald Trump skipped his economics class the day the Wharton School of Business covered tariffs? In any case, to use his own poker analogy regarding having the cards, he is fully pot committed and there will be nowhere for him to hide this time when it all blows up in his face.

An example of the the fortitude of Canadian small business owners: ā€œThe CFIB poll also revealed something that surprised Gaudreault: Despite concerns over counter-tariffs, three-quarters of businesses surveyed said they support Canada's decision to impose themā€. #tariffs #elbows-up

I have never been prouder to be able to say the words ā€œI am a Canadianā€ or more thankful for having been born on this side of the 49th parallel than I am right now. With everything that is going on right now south of the border, it looks like we have some tough sledding ahead. Stay strong Canada!
