“There isn't a single part of the entire thing that stands up to the smallest amount of scrutiny. The whole thing, the entire enterprise is just sheer lawlessness,” says Chris Hayes.

We're all gonna die

Obviously there is plenty bad shit but this just bums me out so much, NIH was built over more than a century, there is history and reasoning and scientific logic behind the way it is structured and how it functions, and a few daft fuckheads are demolishing it over the course of a few months.

The erasing continues. Erase them and disappear them. They're definitely coming after women's rights -- voting, right to work, right to own a biz, right to have a checking account, right to body autonomy, you name it. They're telegraphing the whole play with these moves.

And people will die.

"we shouldn't be fussing about people being disappeared to foreign countries! It's not as tho Trump is going to start doing this to native born citizens and political enemies, like me...."

Can this Nazi be identified?

This is so heartbreaking and makes nothing better and no one safer. It is the punitive act of an administration that values fealty over human health.

I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article

“It’s amazing that others in this room underwrote electing a man who, in the last week, single-handedly destroyed all of American science. It’s amazing how much good science you can destroy with $320 million and RFK Jr, very fast.” — Seth Rogen’s censored remarks presenting the Breakthrough Prize

Hey! You, too, can die of black lung before you're 45! Sign here!!!

My congressional representative

Apologize for what? Not kissing the Fuhrer 's ass?

Gee, Jon, a lot of us that aren't paid millions of dollars to make political commentary could have told you this is what we foresee. It wasn't difficult

Career officials at the Internal Revenue Service were pressed by Trump officials and DOGE staffers to hand over access to sensitive taxpayer data to immigration agencies, but repeatedly refused, telling their new overseers that doing so would be illegal. Trump and Musk barreled ahead anyway.

We traded Europe for a guy that builds concentration camps for profit.

bloomberg: ~90% of deported migrants to el salvador had no criminal record

This is the Joyce and Harvey White International Plaza — it was constructed in 1998 as a tribute to NWMSU’s global enrollment. “A symbol of goodwill and peace, it recognizes the various countries of currently enrolled Northwest students.” Trump just revoked the visas of 43 students.

Ooooh the color changing as you scroll is a nice touch.

Word of the day is ‘bugiard’ (17th century): one who distorts the truth beyond all recognition to fit their own agenda.

No one should be above the law, most especially the President. Ignoring a Supreme Court ruling to facilitate Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return isn't just cruel; it's unconstitutional. They're saying the quiet part aloud — if they get away with it now, they'll do it to anyone.

Today, I went to our Social Security Office to conduct Oversight and was denied access to meet with officials. Instead, we were given a generic phone number in another state and denied entry past the waiting room. Here’s what we found out ⬇️

Horrifyingly true

“Trump is illegally disappearing people. He is proposing abducting Americans. He must be removed from power. He no longer has authority.” And honestly that’s the weak version of what Democrats should be saying.

It’s amazing how often Trump says he doesn’t know what’s happening in the country and it’s treated as totally normal.
