Happy Mardi Gras! 1st attempt at making a sazerac at home, using recipe in joy of mixology - super easy, fantastic drink. Sazerac rye, Quincy Street Distillery absinthe. Next up, Ramos gin fizz.....

I hope people understand there are going to be months and months of cherry picked government DOGE datasets twisted into unrecognizable shapes and turned into fake "scoops" to justify endless demonization of popular and essential government services

Cocktails and live music Friday night at Fitzgeralds. Lou Shields put on a great set, check him out if you dig guitar and/or banjo.

after years of having a dog (RIP, Ribsy) who would side-eye me and slink out of the room and hide in her crate when I'd react (yell happily or not-happily) to the Spartans, JB snoozing next to me while I share my feelings with the TV is pleasant.

Windy City Rollers, Fury v. Attackers. Beers, baked goods, and badasses. Great way to spend a Saturday, highly recommend.

Anything short of a Billy Cole-esque scene is possible in this CheezIt Bowl game.

Hard to believe Chicago was able to find a taker for their offer of selling dollar bills for 25 cents.

Bartender pronounced my last name correctly. That's a first outside West Michigan.

Heading to Soldier Field for the game, got my Big Cat Williams jersey on, ready to razz Detroit fans respectfully and mildly.

If you have a library card, highly recommend checking if your library offers Hoopla. Free streaming service with a strong catalog of movies (and ebooks, audio books, and music) with no commercials. If you don't have a library card, you should get one. Libraries are cool. And they often have Hoopla.

time to update the Sports Bsky trend from a few weeks ago with a new category

cold enough to crack the tracks in Chicago chicago.suntimes.com/news/2024/12...

Fried to the Yankees. Ugh.

In 2025 (less than 30 days away), PayPal will start selling your transaction history for targeted advertising. I very highly recommend logging into your account and going to Settings > Data & Privacy > Personalized Shopping. If you're reading this, turn that off RIGHT NOW before you forget.

Not the result I hoped for, but a great game today between Hope and North Central today. North Central is a very good football team. #d3football

camera on the new phone takes incredibly clear pictures, compared to same model two generations ago. downside is, when taking pics of the dog in the kitchen, it's pretty obvious how infrequently that floor is swept and mopped.

Setting up the Christmas tree. Current count of ornaments dropped and broken this afternoon is 2. Over/under of 3.5 definitely in play.

Hope College 49-21 over Aurora #d3football

OK. Now that I have had an hour to get my head around the end of the Bears game and am confident this is a measured and appropriate reaction...WTAF BEARS? Fire Eberflus into the sun.

Received JB's DNA test results and my favorite part is it shows if they have any close / distant relatives in the doggy DNA bank.

The pie recipes aren't super easy (though also not terribly hard) in Justice of the Pies cookbook, but they are some of the most delicious desserts I've ever had. Praline Pear, in particular.

Fire Eberflus at halftime. I understand not frog marching him off the sidelines, but use the privacy of the locker room to have the conversation with the man, please.

Colts uniforms today makes it look like the Lions are playing Grand Valley State.

I'm certain this Michigan State team is going to be frustrating to watch at points this season, but Coen Carr and Jase Richardson on the floor at the same time are really fun to watch.

the nice thing about Inov8 shoes is they last so long I forget about how awful their website is at processing transactions and go willingly back to it to make purchases.

this is gonna be one of those days, isn't it Bears?

Sports Bluesky! Quote Post with your favorite sports teams and introduce yourself... NBA: Hawks NFL: Falcons & Bears NHL: Blackhawks NCAA: Michigan State & Hope College MLB: Braves & White Sox WNBA: Sky Soccer: Red Stars This list should confirm my gluttony for punishment.

this is a great list to follow bsky.app/profile/did:...

As the holidays approach, I cannot recommend highly enough trying Nigella's redder than red cranberry sauce. Super simple and delicious (fruit, sugar, and a little booze, who knew that'd taste good?) www.nigella.com/recipes/redd...

Spartans are Spartaning today. I cannot tell myself it's still year one for Jonathan Smith enough.

Getting ready for Chris Stam.

The Bears are hard to watch.

Jeremy Fears is giving me confidence in this Spartan team. Kohler looking strong tonight too.

Shopping at Aldi seems to have impacted my ability to guess correctly on some price is right games. Gtfoh $5 can of tomato sauce.

Jake Butt in the booth um games is a terrible decision.

Peppermint tea with honey is something I discovered way too late in life

Fairly certain I know how this game ends, but still gotta say, as of 5 minutes into the second quarter, Spartans definitely have some signs of hope.

Tom Brady in the booth is terrible. I understand we're all stuck with the Cowboys as national broadcast whenever possible, but ffs, did they have to double down on making the broadcast as unappealing as possible?
