But what if it sent 14-bit MIDI instead of boring old 7-bit? RasPi Pico's AD converters are 12-bit and noisy, so I have to discard the lower 4 bytes to avoid jitter: that leaves me with 8 bits, which is ok for 7-bit MIDI (0-127). But with an external 16-bit ADC, I can send MIDI values from 0-16383
