Hey #BikeDEN we need your help. A person on a bike was hit by a driver in a hit and run on Friday night shortly before 8pm. We don’t have details on the exact location but it was somewhere between 13th and Vaughn St in Aurora and the Lowry neighborhood in Denver. Please share details if you saw it!

Come help reopen the recently surrendered 2900 block of Larimer Street

coming up next week, a virtual meeting with bike lane uprising! https://bsky.app/profile/denverbicyclelobby.bsky.social/post/3limgfyedx22g

Yesterday, DBL and 12 other orgs sent a letter to the Mayor asking for safer neighborhood bikeways. It’s time to build greenways that are comfortable for everyone to cycle on.

cars allow you to get less done with more. they're only advantage is in moving faster between places that have become spread out in order to fit more cars. https://www.threads.net/@cyclinginstitute/post/DGLSi78Npl9

Denver Gazette again doing lazy reporting. Saying business are not doing well because there are no parking spaces downtown is simply not true. There are more than 50,000 parking spaces downtown priced anywhere from $5 to $40 an hour.

This is why we don’t have a protected bike lane on all of West 29th Avenue. Literally. https://bsky.app/profile/tomflood.bsky.social/post/3li7pocqyfc2l

When you think your city is going to have a win by getting a protected bike lane but then you realize it is just a painted bike lane

paint is not protection https://bsky.app/profile/nosquish.bsky.social/post/3lhnp4anrg22g

Rest in peace Professor Shoup.

Let the RINO BID know how you feel about the removal of public amenities on the 2900 block of Larimer at public comment at their upcoming board meeting on 2/12 from 2-5pm. Zoom link below #denver #BikeDEN

“Denver paid people to bike in ‘a fascinating psychological experiment.’ Here’s what 6 riders learned Shocker: They biked more. But that’s not all.” https://denverite.com/2025/02/05/denver-paid-to-bike-experiment/

join the people over parking love in with #denver streets partnership! remember kids, parking-protected bike lanes are car infrastructure! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/people-over-parking-love-in-tickets-1226878028209

DOTI will have dozens of meetings and outreach to put in a bike lane. Yet for changing a public space that has been around since 2020, they didn’t even send out an email to the community. https://denverite.com/2025/02/02/rino-block-closed-since-2020-will-reopen-this-week/

"We want to see the city commit to making places that already exist successful, not undoing them because a permit wasn't renewed or because a process wasn't followed," said Cushen […]

The city is shutting down there car-free block of Larimer on Monday. Show up tomorrow if you want to save it.

Hey #BikeDEN … did you know you can report obstructions in the bike lane to a data catalog via @bikelaneuprising.bsky.social? Check it out here: www.bikelaneuprising.com

The Denver Gazette is pretty much cutting and pasting NextDoor comments about bikeways without talking to anyone that bikes.

DOTI says they will plow All protected bike lanes. The protected bike lane in front of the largest transit hub in the state days after the snowfall:

Hey #BikeDEN be sure to take this survey on safety improvements if you bike or walk by 12th and Elati https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CentralSignals

Today’s #Denver #RTD meeting… in which the RTD CEO blamed #buses being late on #sharrows, #bike lanes, and bollards. So far off the mark. link to full meeting: https://www.youtube.com/live/MRtk35VGhtg?si=sIZxAxzc_X3ilMHK

We want to give a shout out to Denver Park and Rec for being amazing at keeping our paths and trails accessible and plowing them so well and quickly after it snows.

Parts of the West 29th Avenue protected bike lane has been covered in snow and ice for a week before tonight’s snow started. DOTI doesn’t care about keeping the road safe for people that bike.

the January DBL meetup was a success! no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes (and unplowed bike lanes!)

We are hearing word that a student walking to Skinner Middle School was hit by a driver today & injured at 41st Ave & Federal. The student had a walk light & was in the crosswalk when the driver turned into them. This is the second Skinner student hit by a driver on 41st Ave this school year […]

Another fatal pedestrian hit and run crash on Colfax. CDOT roads are the most deadly in Denver because they are designed for speed.

Great lineup for tonight's INC Denver Transportation Committee Meeting. 6-8pm on zoom.

the next DBL meetup will be at Prodigy coffee house on January 18, at 9am. come and say hello!

Rest in peace President Carter

In Colorado this is true. We are one of the worst states in the country for funding transit but always find money to expand highways. https://www.threads.net/@scott_wiener/post/DEF3a8RREag
