Anyone around east #Denver see anything Friday night?

Hey #BikeDEN we need your help. A person on a bike was hit by a driver in a hit and run on Friday night shortly before 8pm. We don’t have details on the exact location but it was somewhere between 13th and Vaughn St in Aurora and the Lowry neighborhood in Denver. Please share details if you saw it!

Coming up next week!

Today, DBL and 12 other orgs sent a letter to the Mayor asking for safer neighborhood bikeways. It’s time to build greenways that are comfortable for everyone to cycle on.

Who can we enlist in Denver to come up with something similar since our DOT doesn’t plow most bike lanes or neighborhood bikeways?

Denver Gazette again doing lazy reporting. Saying business are not doing well because there are no parking spaces downtown is simply not true. There is plenty of parking downtown.

This is why we don’t have a protected bike lane on all of West 29th Avenue.

Great story on Denver’s Winter Bike To Work Day www.denver7.com/news/on-two-...

I wish Denver would get the guts to do this.

When you think your city is going to have a win by getting a protected bike lane but then you realize it is just a painted bike lane

Paint is not protection

Rest in peace Professor Shoup.

Let the RINO BID know how you feel about the removal of public amenities on the 2900 block of Larimer at public comment at their upcoming board meeting on 2/12 from 2-5pm. Zoom link below.

"After participating in the program, he said he’s purchased multiple bikes, convinced his friends to bike commute and is even planning to intern at a bike shop over the summer" #BikePilled Great stories, underlined by the continued need for safer street design

“Denver paid people to bike in ‘a fascinating psychological experiment.’ Here’s what 6 riders learned Shocker: They biked more. But that’s not all.” denverite.com/2025/02/05/d...

Thanks to some nudging from @bikewalkbus.bsky.social, I just sent in my letter of support for eliminating mandatory parking minimums citywide in Denver. Join me! bit.ly/NoParkingMins

Don’t forget there is a #BikeDEN starter pack! go.bsky.app/TSX5kde

Come out to Cerebral Brewing on Feb 13 and help tell city council to eliminate costly parking mandates city wide! Let businesses make their own choices on how much parking they need and stop forcing affordable housing developments to spend $30k+ each on unused parking spots!

There have already been two big accidents the day after the unannounced major change. www.reddit.com/r/Denver/com...

Unity.

DOTI will have dozens of meetings and lots of public outreach to put in a bike lane. Yet for changing a public space that has been around since 2020, they didn’t even send out an email to the community. denverite.com/2025/02/02/r...

The latest episode of the Denver Urbanism podcast. “Losing Larimer” talks to people on the street, many that didn’t even know the public space on the 2900 block of Larimer is no longer going to be car free. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/d...

Was great to rally up with folks to show support for a pedestrian-only space. It’s really frustrating how few we have and can’t seem to keep any.

"We want to see the city commit to making places that already exist successful, not undoing them because a permit wasn't renewed or because a process wasn't followed," said Cushen. www.denver7.com/news/local-n...

Hey Jeffco residents… Leave comment on the county’s comprehensive infrastructure plan here: togetherjeffco.com

11th Ave is the worst. One of the cities most dense neighborhoods deserves a bike lane that is free of snow and ice.
