It has taken a court case and legal decision to highlight the undue influence of the pro-Israel lobby on the state broadcaster. Congratulations to Lattouf and her team. However, does raise the question of what other areas of govt policy have/are influenced by the lobby?

No one asked us if we want AUKUS. “If it goes ahead as planned, the AUKUS agreement will see US and UK nuclear submarines begin their rotational presence at Perth’s HMAS Stirling from 2027.” It’s time to dump AUKUS & spend the money on necessities. www.watoday.com.au/politics/wes...

Is it too late to give Sacha Baron Cohen an Oscar for this? Not a damn lie told. 🇺🇸

After Scott Morrison and Joe Hockey, I’d been thinking that ABC couldn’t sink much lower in its wheeling out of ‘experts’ on US policy. But just when you think your expectations have reached rock bottom, David Speers and #abc730 exceed them. #auspol

If the US Navy can’t meet its own submarine targets, how is Australia meant to get any? AUKUS is a foreign supply chain fantasy dressed up as sovereignty #auspol

These supersized pencil bollards will brighten your entire year. #WorldBollardAssociation 📸@camdencyclists.bsky.social

#AUKUS submarines would be obsolete before Australia gets them. But we won't get them They don't fit with any sane defence strategy And the 'deal' ties us to an unstable, fascist regime. Albanese govt's failure to conduct our own review suggests they know all this. johnmenadue.com/post/2025/06...

Instead of investing in defence capabilities and equipment that could be used to defend Australia, the Defence budget is being spent on nuclear subs we don’t need and will never arrive anyway. Meanwhile our leaders are happy, drunk on the rhetoric. #auspol

Here's me. "WMD 2.0 is so half-arsed, be embarrassed for people falling for it" With two excellent new cartoons from @fionakatauskas.bsky.social. Peace.

Only the #WorldBollardAssociation can perform this level of sorcery…

Labor have been in their second term for less than two months - and so far have approved one of the largest new fossil fuel projects in the world and are now directly war mongering with China. Labor - what’s the use of you? #auspol

Keating per The Guardian: "Yesterday’s statement by defence minister Richard Marles that Australia’s geography and continent would be crucial to any United States prosecution of a war against China will go down as a dark moment in Australia’s history." #auspol www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

#Auspol #HeyAlbo @albomp.bsky.social You better put a leash on Marles. America is not our friend. If they go to war, that's up to them. But you gotta get our permission first, and we don't permit !!!

Not that I usually watch 730 report but David Speers made Richard Miles look even more like a real dope #auspol

Canada previously tried to share US submarine technology in the late '80s, but the project was scrapped after two years without the US ever having to make a final decision.

Richard Marles says "everything is on the table" when it comes to fixing the Defence Department. But he had a chance to act last year, and did nothing, writes Bernard Keane.

The greatest risk to our national security is a gormless Deputy PM making life & death decisions based on US sycophancy. And a PM who has shown little sign of reining him in. A perfect example of why NO decisions to commit the nation to war should be made without full parliamentary debate. #auspol

By the time we get the #AUKUS subs, the Australian tectonic plate will have crashed into China and we could walk there anyway #4Corners

"Mr Marles said while Australia was not under threat of invasion by China, it would play a key role if war broke out between the US and China." Why? What's in it for Australia? #AUKUS #auspol

Australia’s greatest security threat - our defence minister. The perfumed warlord has committed us to the dud #AUKUS deal, given a big down payment with no guarantee of subs, and has no Plan B. #4Corners #auspol

Schrödinger's parade - the crowd was both sparse and dense.

Reynolds being 'bitterly disappointed' is the best news in quite a while.

Switch off the defibrillator. Let it die. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

James Massola making several critical errors, including: 1. Can’t make AUKUS great “again” because it was cripplingly stupid to begin with which suggests you are a dribbling idiot to think it was any good; 2. Using the “make [something] great again formation marks you out as a dribbling idiot;

Not true. I see you're a luxury watch dealer. I'm also interested in watches. Let me show you how free and easy migration has allowed you to earn a living. 🧵

OK, I guess it is news that Turnbull is [again] criticizing #AUKUS. But bigger news is the Albanese govt's continued failure to review the stupid, dangerous 'deal' they inherited from #ScottyFromMarketing. The US review is the opportunity for us to #DitchAUKUS. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

So with reports #AUKUS is to be reviewed by the US, does it mean Morrison's Companion of the Order of Australia can also be reviewed....check notes... as it was in part given to him for his contributions to AUKUS.

An embarrassed National Rifle Association says it totally forgot to do the one thing it has been saying for years it is solely there to do.

I wish to retract previous posts on "firing things into the Sun" where i argued this was unfeasible on the grounds of orbital dynamics. On review, it appears that a trajectory cunningly aimed towards Jupiter, followed by a sideways-velocity cancelling burn there and drop into the Sun, will suffice.

“The UK is conducting a review of #AUKUS. The US Department of Defence is conducting a review of AUKUS,” #auspol But Australia, which has the most at stake, has no review. Our parliament to date has been the least curious and least informed. Time to wake up?” www.smh.com.au/national/aus...

What has AUKUS cost so far, four years in? Can't find a definitive summary, but it looks to be well over $10 billion, counting the ~$3.3 billion sunk on the dumped French deal. Ten billion to date — for zero return, and no sign of any. Start here: asiapacificdefencereporter.com/aukus-no-ref...
