i think a big reason for a lot of this is that they have two completely separate versions of the game that need updating individually (java and bedrock), each with their own differences to account for.
i'm surprised they're still updating java edition tbh, when all the money is in bedrock.

we already have a way to bring old games to new platforms without the source code and it's called emulation. i'm not sure how they can talk about "portability" when right now the amount of computational power required for these AI models is so astronomically large.

the fact that Fortnite still stutters does not bode well for other developers. while there have been instances where developers haven't done enough to prevent performance problems, if Epic themselves can't completely solve it then realistically who can?

apple also pushed it more as a productivity/movie watching device rather than a gaming device, so there really hasn't been much reason to consider their platform for gaming, even though that has historically been one of VR's biggest draws. whole thing feels like a big mistake with cool tech inside.

i was running out of characters but yes, my thoughts extended to other platforms too. skipping Apple Vision i can kinda get though, since it's a high cost of entry to begin development (requires a $3,000 headset along with a mac), no tracked controllers, and a tiny install base.

in this case i can see the mixed reality stuff being a problem (since on PC there isn't really any mixed reality support to speak of), and if that's a significant part of the package to them then i can kinda understand why here. other games not being on PC is a disappointment though.

FWIW YouTube Studio can show realtime warnings if it detects some audiovisual content in your stream with a blocking policy in Content ID. They'll usually only stop your stream if you keep streaming that content for a while, but your VOD might still be blocked once YouTube fully processes it.

on our TV if the motion is too complex then it just gives up trying to interpolate it properly and instead uses frame blending, which just adds ghosting to the image and ends up looking incredibly jarring any time it switches.
i have no idea how people don't notice this feature ruining the image.

i don't personally use it but i *think* qobuz have a purchase button on their streaming app, which i believe just links to their DRM-free storefront.
