I recall fighting for my life, grappling with words to my uncaring friends. “The Walkmen sound like old rock-n-roll, it’s historical music. It sounds like the 50s” I just didn’t have the vocabulary or knowledge to say they’re Americana. Just Americana filtered through 2000s indie.
