I feel like we need to keep saying this because it’s so insane: This is a legal U.S. resident who has been detained for over a month now for his political opinions.

My 5 year old just described dancing as “rhyming with the music” and…yeah, that’s pretty good actually!

Almost every line of this story would have been simply unbelievable a few months ago: —Pioneering cancer researcher; —*Arrested* at airport in Boston; —Now indefinite ICE detention in Louisiana; —"Crime": not declaring some frog-embryo samples for research. Read it. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Larry David writing a NYT guest essay as a man having dinner with Hitler, just to roast Bill Maher as a smug, self-important clown, is the stuff of comedy legend. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/21/o...

How did I know they would completely defund Headstart? They wrote it down in Project 2025 .

Danielle Allen what are you doing

Kenyan runner John Korir overcame an early fall to win this year’s #Boston Marathon with a time of 2:04:45. www.wgbh.org/local-news/l...

What a run by Lokedi. She EARNED that one. #BostonMarathon

Hearing From Korir is cool but tell me what Lokedi is saying to Obiri! Looks contentious! #BostonMarathon

All in for Hellen Obiri. LFG!

quick question: why was noem carrying $3,000 in cash? was she just out selling drugs or something?

missing here: House Dem Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries

Dear Dems: Polling shows only *generalized* approval of Trump on immigration, but broad opposition to the lawless specifics. If you don't engage on Abrego Garcia and other illegal kidnappings, you only *help* Trump subsume all that under "keeping out illegals." newrepublic.com/article/1941...

Pope Francis questioned JD Vance’s ethical schema by arguing that extended meditation on the parable of the Good Samaritan will ultimately cut against it. Published February 12, 2025: newrepublic.com/article/1914...

It’s comical watching TV news anchor say stuff like “he was a game changer” about Pope Francis. Our vocabulary is so minimal, no wonder we can’t understand the world.

Pope Francis’s "Urbi et Orbi" Easter speech: “How much contempt is stirred up at times towards the vulnerable, the marginalized and migrants...I appeal to all those in positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear which only leads to isolation from others.”

The news is waiting for President Trump’s comments about Pope Francis, which is absolutely insane.

Best Pope of my lifetime. Made me feel better about the Church I grew up in, a Church that gave me a foundation for living AND Cardinal Bernard Law, a true villain.

RIP Pope Francis. A life well lived.

I really don’t want to have to listen to Richard Jefferson today. Alas, let’s go #Celtics!

This is OUR f@ckin’ city!

This guy went from Frederic Weis to Vince Carter in a week

No one prepares you for the 50 times a minute someone will yell “dad!!” at you.

Turns out you can shape the agenda with dramatic action and maybe even shift public opinion. Crazy.

“News consumers” is an incredibly bleak way to describe Americans.

A thing of great beauty

It’s hard to describe the vibe in Boston the past month or so, but it’s a vibe for sure.

I guess it’s good that the non-voting percentage has gone down…

I look forward to Alito and Thomas’ removal from public life and permanent shame.

Dems and their allies have to get over their fear of setting off a backlash. Do the right thing, demonstrate passion unconstrained by calculations about public opinion, which is not immutable and can be changed. We have ample evidence that pulling punches does not work at all in the age of Trump.

"Today’s builders of Babel tell us that there is no room for losers, and that those who fall along the way are losers. Theirs is the construction site of hell." [Pope Francis, 18 April 2025]

Something interesting is happening in Paris: transit ridership is back to pre-pandemic levels, and return-to-office is up – but the trend is the inverse of what Americans assume: workers are going back to the office **because** transit is affordable, reliable and frequent fortune.com/europe/2024/...

For those unfamiliar with the trucking industry: 80 blank sailings means, give or take, about 1,000,000 cargo containers that had been scheduled and booked for delivery which just disappeared.

let’s look back at what has happened so far Cory Booker giving a 25 hour speech: everyone loved it, raised his profile Van Hollen flies to El Salvador and meets Abrego Garcia: everyone loved it, raised his profile Schumer publicly caved: everyone hated that just a general note to Dems

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

BOSTON MA: On this 6th night of Passover, over 300 Jews have gathered to demand the release of Rümeysa Öztürk and the passage of the Dignity Not Deportations Act. As authoritarianism encroaches on our city & across the US, we fight for freedom — not only for ourselves, but for all who are oppressed.

Again these technologies are built and pitched with surveillance capacity in mind, contracts with law enforcement for data etc is a part of the revenue strategy at the point of conception.

Nice, but needs to be more explicit: "THESE ARE NAZIS LYING ABOUT JEWS."
