I recognize that we’re all living in Dear Leader’s Magical Land of Fascist Make-Believe, but, even for him, this is an absurd claim. Per AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas is ~$3.18, which is up a bit from where it was on Inauguration Day.

I’m so confused by the folks who said that raising the minimum wage would increase the price of every day goods while also being okay with tariffs raising the price of every day goods… I reckon they are okay paying higher prices as long as it doesn’t help anyone making a minimum wage.

So what's next after today's May Day mobilizations? On June 14, Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. But real power isn't staged in DC. It rises up everywhere else. That's why we're planning a nationwide day of action to say No Kings. 🧵

Meanwhile, in Canada…

The only strategy known to work against a fascist power grab is widespread and diverse pro-democracy organizing. We win by showing up for each other and with each other.

Trump's post is a federal crime. 26 USC § 7217.

Trump and the GOP are trying to get working people to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. If a Republican represents you, tell them to stop putting billionaires first and start fighting for the families they were elected to serve: indivisible.org/reso...

Maddow: 88% of the country says no, no, he cannot defy a supreme court ruling. Only 9% say yes he can. And you know, it's not the same thing. But I should mention that 9% is also the proportion of Americans who told yougov this week that they have a favorable view of the black plague

Seriously, why is RFK Jr worried about dyes in food when his department is cutting safety standards for milk and chicken?

NEWS: Tesla’s net income in Q1 plunges 71% as global backlash against Elon Musk takes its toll — and without selling $595 million in regulatory credits, the company would’ve posted a loss. Brutal.

I do mourn Pope Francis. Though I’m no longer a practicing Catholic, my remaining tether was to the kind of faith he modeled, especially in his care for migrants, for refugees, for social justice, and against war and genocide. Hope @zeets.bsky.social doesn’t mind my sharing this.

“You can’t find a more exciting historical story.” 250 years after Paul Revere’s famous midnight ride, we followed the 16-mile route and spoke to people who felt a sense of wonder about that April night. nyti.ms/4cPQeun

Last night was the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops. I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III. Remind you of anyone?

New York City. Keep protesting! Keep marching in the streets!

Right Now, most of the American can relate to this message from the 90's.

Judge Willkinson, U.S Judge of Appeals, in response to government’s rejection of bringing Garcia back to America.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

These shit-comments that RFK Jr. made on Wednesday are wrong, ugly, and completely unhelpful to the millions of autistic people in this country (or their families, for that matter). And FFS, Autism is not a disease. Ya’d think that the U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary would get a clue.

Lil Marco is learning that diplomacy is difficult, despite the fact that his boss promised to end this war in 24 hours with one phone call & said it “wouldn’t even be that hard to do.” What he won’t say is this isn’t getting done because Putin WANTS war.

With these posts, they’ve made it essentially inarguable that they’re deliberately defying the Supreme Court.

The DHS spokesperson is now alleging that Mr. Abrego Garcia was arrested with "rolls of cash and drugs" and was "wearing what is effectively an MS-13 uniform" (Chicago Bulls gear). But: 1) He was arrested for loitering and not charged for anything 2) PGPD previously said they had no incident report

El Salvador refuses to let Democratic senator visit or speak with Kilmar Abrego Garcia: ‘We have an unjust situation here’

This is wonderful! I hope it happens!

Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive? Because the amount of resistance to addressing his being trafficked gives the distinct impression that either he is dead or what they have done to him is so unspeakable that they cannot afford for him to be freed, seen, or spoken with.

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism. If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone. Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

Pam Bondi: “That’s up to El Salvador if they want to return him…If they wanted to return him, we would facilitate it, meaning provide a plane.” Nayib Bukele: “How can I return him to the U.S.? Like, I smuggle him into the U.S.?” No, you put him on the plane the AG just said the US would provide!
