Who wants to chip in with me to put this on billboards in the States?

In happier news, here a new motor learning paradigm and paper by Ali Ghavampour, @mnlmrc.bsky.social, @andpru.bsky.social, @jonathanamichaels.bsky.social, @jjodx.bsky.social. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

With the current news, it is hard to think about real science. If you are a scientist in the US, we are with you. As a community, we have to fight this nationalist bullshit together. We Germans have been down that particular rabbit hole thoroughly enough already, no?

It was a pleasure speaking at Western's Neuroscience Research Day yesterday! I am so grateful to the Neuroscience community here for all their support these past three years. Thanks to the students for organizing this fantastic day! #NRD2025 @westernuwin.bsky.social @westernubrainscan.bsky.social

please retweet this ad for a tenured-research position in fMRI at ultra-high. Join us!

There are currently three open faculty positions (all levels) in my department (Psychology) Oslo is a lovely city, modestly sized (600k) but a capital, surrounded by forest and the fjord We're also a stable democracy with high support of and trust in science www.sv.uio.no/english/abou...

I also want to one point of this paper, the effect the exclusion of cerebellum in research is having on cerebellar patients. Many struggle to find diagnoses or answers from physicians because there is such limited research. A real potential area for improving health outcomes with basic research.

This is the most relevant article to NIH and research cuts I’ve seen. Imagine if this was today , how many people would be saying “Why are we studying Gila Monsters and their impact on diabetes ? That’s wasted money !” globalnews.ca/news/9793403...

Hi Washington, Oregon, and California! We think it would be awesome if you became the 11th province of Canada. How about it? No medical bills, better fire fighters, no import duty - it will be awesome! Even your president admits that the border is completely arbitrary.

Congrats to @mkashefi.bsky.social for a great paper addressing a longstanding debate….

Can the motor system use sensory expectations to prepare for unexpected events? Excited to share my latest work with @andpru.bsky.social – where we establish that sensory expectations shape neural population dynamics in motor circuits! 🧵 and paper below 1/

Contrary to some people’s perception, post-review consultation is still the most important and lasting innovation that eLife has made to the peer process. If it goes well, it is like a journal club with 3 experts in the field! I’m a big fan and wish all journals had this.

Our consultative peer review process means you can spend less time responding to confusing or conflicting suggestions. Learn more about peer review at eLife: https://buff.ly/4fYU4Ch

Imaging the cerebellum is like looking into a mountain lake. You do not see what is going on under the surface (Purkinje cells), but rather you see the reflection of the surrounding mountains (i.e. how cortical activity arrives in the cerebellum). www.diedrichsenlab.org/BrainDataSci... A short blog:

Jet-lagged in Lisbon: me before the first coffee with John Krakauer…

I know that many people are worried about eLife’s new publishing model - but please, please read this blog.

Just putting this out here again as the internal deadline for expressions of interest is fast approaching. The Canada Excellence Research Chairs program offers $8M or $4M over 8 years. If you are interested in ultra-high field MRI (3T, 7T, 9.4T, 15.2T) and neuroscience, shoot me a DM. www.cerc.gc.ca

Looking forward to visiting the OBI at UTsouthwestern tomorrow to present our newest results. So many amazing people there! odonnellbraininstitute.utsouthwestern.edu @aniladmello.bsky.social

Interested in motor control or cerebellar function? We have two openings for graduate students for Fall 25. Join the sensorimotor superlab - our interdisciplinary research group Paul Gribble and Andrew Pruszynski. Application instructions at diedrichsenlab.org. Please repost 🙏
