Going to get the paper is much nicer in the spring.

Good luck today. Looking forward to my Mayday walk to the Polling Station. #votegreen

Peaceful There be faeries here. I'm sure

The government’s Land Use consultation is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to intervene in this critical issue. Here’s my response to it. Please feel free to borrow / copy & paste as much as you want. It’s crucial that we engage. www.monbiot.com/2025/03/23/f... 1/3 🧵

Love this essay/manifesto by @anandwrites.bsky.social "Because having, and nurturing, in your life a sphere for joy and connection and community and love and food and music and human difference and living and letting live is everything they are not and is everything they are trying to take away."

I went to Athens to this fabulous building, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, to collect this award. A great honour

Look @katiepoos.bsky.social we like this

Our children will have to live with a changing climate, so need to be equipped to understand the challenges they will face. Attached is an article & linked letter (still open for signatures) to the Education Minister urging her to embed climate change in the curriculum. www.tes.com/magazine/new...

With #BP announcing that they’ll slash investment in renewables, today feels like a particularly good day to sign @chrisgpackham.bsky.social petition to end fossil fuel greenwash👇

Hello @katiepoos.bsky.social 👋

Another brand to avoid like the plague. Cheaper, and in my opinion better, alternatives available…

'Fossil fuel brain' such a common phenomenon!

We actually have less control than we used to, while assuming things are the other way round

The number of governments backing a proposal for a global levy on maritime emissions has grown, including shipping-reliant nations like Panama and Liberia. Veteran Pacific shipping negotiator Albon Ishoda calls this a “milestone in our collective journey” www.climatechangenews.com/2025/01/16/s...

This is amazing! I have always wondered why we don't organise sustainable group travels like this for COPs when we know thousands of us are going to be travelling.

Still the best two sentences on climate action.

Good But also tackle reduce emissions fast

There's a counterfactual but plausible past where 10,000s of scientists, environmentalists, journalists and public servants *didn't* spend the last 5 decades fighting climate & ecological destruction. I often wonder if folks get how hopeless our future would look, without their work and sacrifice?

Until abortion is legal in every state, lets require men to get a mandatory vasectomy until they are proven emotionally mature, financially responsible and ready to be a father. Wait, what do you mean regulations on men's bodies make you uncomfortable?

"CCS is still a fossil fuel industry tool" Excellent blog. But scary

How much more evidence do we need, after 29 failures, that the climate COPs are not fit for purpose? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. There have been many proposals for a process that would actually work, but all are ignored. The talks are MEANT to fail.

9000 signatures! Thank you all for signing. Another 1000 and Defra will have to respond. Derbyshire Dales is the most signature-rich constituency with 77 and neighbouring Sheffield Hallam not far behind on 74. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

Appalling, but not surprising. Cop process has been failing for years. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

As COP29 closes (fiasco from a climate perspective or success if you’re a fossil fuel exec or weak leader) attached are two contrasting views of the UK’s climate position. (Post-COP, the UK Govt can maintain both its ‘hands-off’ approach to opening up Rosebank & its support for airport expansion.)

Great advocacy for swifts in this thread from @benjyhere.bsky.social. Do read and add a swift box to your house wall if there's not one there already...
