Everyone has a right to have chickens etc in their yard, and civil disobedience on this point, in the United States, is probably justified. And at the same time, nothing happening in DC is, by itself, a good reason to disobey local laws.

"If you think X you must also think Y" is a dishonest tactic both sides use. And it's the opposite of what we need right now. We need a coalition against Trump. Not because we agree. But because we want to go back to disagreeing the old way, by the laws and the constitution and the votes.

Went to the protest today. I was happy to see so many people show up since, it seemed to me, this one was not publicized well. I was unhappy to see it be a platform for every far left group. These aren't normal times, we need to leave the normal disagreements behind.
