i don’t find focusing on people’s addiction as a useful method for evaluating their wisdom or intelligence. It further stigmatize addiction and further discounts the humanity of those that have used or are actively using. Many or the wisest people I have known were actively using or in recovery.

just finished reading Andrew Holleran’s “Dancer from the Dance”. had seen it referenced in books about the New York Disco scene and assumed it would be something of a pulp novel, but it is very well written and highly enjoyable. On hoopla if you swing that way.
