Tied to the 90s and really wishing there was a better 90s song to have lifted that line from. Pretty much the same dodgy patter here as in the Other Place. Daubs here: Discodave75.redbubble.com He/Him

Oh god, gender fuckery, AI's basically patronising the shit out of dumb humans and the guy literally drowning in a room full of crap? So much good stuff.

At least it's not Musk?

Oh, this is fucking cynical as anything, but there is precedent - the UK only stopped paying war debts to the US and Canada in 2006. Mind you, that was cash, not the exact stuff that Musk wants but China is refusing to sell at a low enough price or in the volumes needed.

Absolutely. Didn't Musk have something to say about regime change in South America when they were trying to get a source of REM from down there, too? He must really love America.

And for administration, read Musk, as Trump wouldn't know what to do with rare earth metals if you paid him. I mean really, who could possibly benefit from an extorted supply of materials that are used in both batteries and aerospace grade metal alloys? It's a mystery.

I, however, did bring a gift... and I only tried each cake, I did share with everyone else.

How far down the rabbit-hole did you end up going? I've been raiding the stacks at my work (The Mitchell library in Glasgow) and have read as many of her books as I can winkle out. Still no Flat Earth titles, but The Forests of the Night is a brilliant short story collection.

Charles Burns' Kommix is clearly a resonse to some of these books. And, perhaps more disturbingly, Tintin. www.fantagraphics.com/products/kom...

..and now I find that I've fallen for an internet rumour. Alas, they didn't use scans, but ubisoft did donate $0.5 million to the reconstruction fund.

There's also a couple of great videos on youtube with classists playing through AC Odyssey and geeking out at the agora and friezes. youtu.be/QDFMYkCTNu4?...

On a related note - the reason there was an Assassin's Creed-style figure in the Paris Olympics opening ceremony was that, after the Notre Dame fire, the guys who made Assassin's Creed Unity gave their 3D scans to the reconstruction team to help them rebuild.

Of course! I knew he was nobility through inheritance, but I'd forgotten they were married.

Also, that actor has inherited the title "Prince of Ghor", which is the most Rice Burroughs thing I've heard in a while.

We expect this from @comicprintinguk.bsky.social , but you, Al?

The adaptations of classic films are always their own special brand of weird - the Flash Gordon one is great, with film stills and all - but it delves a little too deeply into both Dale's swinger past and Aura's BDSM relationship with her dad.

uh-huh. Got three for me and one for K. What you need to ask yourself is, do you really need "The Big Book of Bums"?

I simply cannot countenance your mini milk erasure.

Not soundproof, but pretty quiet - we have carrels in the Mitchell.

Really? I'd have put you in your early 40s, but there we go...

I think he should have a stern word with his "team" - they've let him down, they've let the fans down, but most of all they've let themselves down. Curse you, Michelle.

This is why it's good to work in a library and have access to the withdrawn books. Here be treasure.

The only good thing about that film is Connery's suit (and even that doesn't make sense - he was never Scottish).
