"Canada should respect international law and sanction Netanyahu and his cabinet immediately for their role in the genocide of Gaza. All Israeli officials who incite or are responsible for genocide should be sanctioned," says NDP MP @heathermcpherson.bsky.social www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

So let's get this straight. Taxpayers spent $34 billion on the TMX pipeline because no private company would take the risk. That's $1200 per household. We subsidize every barrel down the pipe by 50 cents on the dollar because Big Oil won't pay. And now they want another one. As the planet burns.

globalnews.ca/news/1121667... Wow, the sinkhole that has closed the Coquihala was "related to Trans Mountain’s pipeline boring work in the area” Imagine if, say, a solar power plant somehow closed a critical highway like this. It would be 24/7 headline coverage for a week. #DecarbonizeBC

👀 at the thrift store yesterday — stacks of brand new/politically expired BC United caps 😅 #bcpoli

If a reader would like to post this on Reddit, that would be welcome 😃

Shame on this extractivist-centred mindset and shame on the NDP

Am I the only one who finds it slightly galling that premiers are pitching major projects to an open-eared prime minister right now -- including pipelines -- as a province burns around them and people are forced to evacuate????? As a result of wildfires which are exacerbated by climate change???

Gaza is ‘hungriest place on Earth’ with all its people at risk of famine, says UN. Mission to deliver help is ‘one of most obstructed aid operations in recent history’, humanitarian agency says. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Pedestrian are not the problem. Drivers attitudes are , just drove through Duncan North Cowichan Hey #1 corridor with a speed limit of 50. Passed like I was standing still & the speed radar said 75 km/hr, truck pulling camper was one of them. At red light gave me the finger when I said slow down.

Happy Friday! Here’s my latest Director’s Report for Electoral Area C at the Strathcona Regional District

My dad is 94. Yesterday he gave me his spices: he said ‘I’m not gonna get around to using these so you should’. Incredibly, the ground cloves smell potent still. #vintagetins

Eby’s inner circle takes another big step forward in torching the NDP’s reputation. Canada is full of center-right parties —why the BC NDP is investing so much to become yet another one is something I’ll never understand.

Premier Eby continues to lift lines from conservatives, this time “shovel-ready projects,” which has long been used to assure resource extraction regardless of the consequences or widespread opposition. This is so embarrassing for the BC NDP. #bcpoli

"This legislation is just the latest in a dangerous trend where the province is tossing aside key partners, institutions and policies designed to protect democracy and due process." Op-ed in the Vancouver Sun from BC's Urban Mayors' Caucus: vancouversun.com/opinion/op-e...

@soniafurstenau.bsky.social: It’s not just the NDP government — and private industry — we’re being asked to trust. This bill would also empower cabinet to give authority to industry hired professionals and sidestep existing government processes and oversight. #bcpoli

Eby is disempowering local governments one bill at a time. #Bill15 “The subtle undermining of the FNLC is nothing compared to the outright derision the NDP is heaping upon UBCM, which it used to court for approval after winning the 2017 election on promises to better listen to municipal leaders.”

Eby doubled down on his promise to grow B.C.’s mining and natural resource sector, even as First Nations leaders ramped up their protests over his government's methods.

The new federal housing minister wants to see affordable housing but doesn't want house prices to fall? How does that work? Currently, it does not. We have the highest home prices (indexed) of all the G7 countries. #canpoli #cdnpoli

Discovered something happening in the garden today… metamorphosis in action. A sphinx moth becoming its flighted self. It climbed up a grass stem, waiting for its wings to slowly fill. A lepidopterist friend came to see it and moved it to a plum branch. Such a treat to observe all day 😍 #moth

Loving this iconic photo of our May Day parade float. 💯 recommend the rechargeable ‘gazillions bubble maker’ at Costco

Double overload ferry and then a slow roll across the passage as the ferry captain waits for this tug & mega-load of supplies to pass as it heads north. #islandlife

BC’s wolf culling program has killed 362 wolves in 2025, the second-highest total since it began. While the province cites caribou protection, advocates say that long-term recovery is dependant on habitat restoration, not removing predators. Learn more: buff.ly/7fqcH70

According to the BDC, a 10% increase in tourism spending could boost Canada’s GDP by a full 1%

Holy smokes! Liberals appear to have won this seat by ONE vote. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Never ever, ever let anyone tell you that voting doesn’t matter. (Also, poor Bloc member who lost it by a single vote.) apple.news/A3XisWVDrSpG...

Hard to argue with needing more schools or hospitals, but the devil in ‘key infrastructure’ is LNG & dirty pipeline builds — without adequate environmental assessment, and making it legal to override local governments (and First Nations?!) when not aligned with provincial goals. #nothanks #consult

“Transferring power to the province will not lead to better decisions… several recent housing bills followed a similar rushed development process, where the province skipped genuine engagement with local governments… bypassing consultation will result in poor legislation and negative repercussions.”

god help this poor woman. What an ordeal to have to relive.

Damn

Israeli forces have now dropped more explosives in Gaza than fell on London, Dresden, and Hamburg during the Second World War. The region’s hospitals have not been spared; most are no longer functional. Clayton Dalton writes about the devastation.

The thing about not splitting the progressive vote is that it’s RIDING SPECIFIC
