The entire internet right now.

It's a good thing my wedding anniversary dinner starts in an hour let me check the news on Bsky to see if anything happened today...

the democrats should invite Elon to meet with them. tell him that the meeting is on a patch of sticks and leaves that APPEARS to be sitting atop solid ground. but here is the twist,

Nice sign of web platform diversification when the most powerful men in the world are feuding in parallel on two different microblogging platforms while we're all posting the godzilla let them fight meme on a third.

I just finished @bridgetgillard.bsky.social new novel "Little Bosses Everywhere" and it was excellent. The grifting, the historical genesis and the sheer psychological aspects of MLM nuttery are all detailed perfectly. Now if only we could fight back somehow - and rescue the conned...

Actually, this isn’t true. No such play or movie was ever produced.

Again, I have done the thing. New toon: the presser and the coverage. www.dailykos.com/stories/2025...

The first time I had a morphine drip in a hospital I realized two things: 1. I definitely wanted to keep pressing that button. 2. I should never be near a button like that in real life ever again.

Sea captains I encountered today...

Happy #TACO Saturday

This...took a turn I was not expecting. Pretty sure JC would say "hey look you seem like you like Lucy more than me maybe we need some time apart".

I have nothing but compassion for people who struggle with addiction. I also don't want people under the influence to be flying airplanes, driving cars, or running the country. Simple as.

so this quote is not accurate, he's still wrong but he is very much aware of Operation Paperclip. he says "...was built by American citizens, some German and Jewish scientists who came over during World War II..." JD Vance is a shithead enough without needing to misquote him.

Time for a great picture:

Now that we know the TACO thing bugs the fuck out of Trump, a coherent left media machine would swing into action & make sure that every single left-of-center person on a TV shore or podcast used that term repeatedly for the next several weeks, making it inescapable.

You cannot be working class if you have union representation, apparently.

Got this sticker for my laptop 😅

Trump's...bill...reminds me of a blighted historical example: the Sherman Silver Purchase Act of 1890. It led to disaster. It was a classic case of an overconfident party overextending national finances to buy off a constituency without giving a thought to the consequences. Just like That Bill. 🧵/1

I wonder what the gender breakdown is of folks, on Bsky, between left and right wings. My personal (non-data driven) take would be that I bet most men are higher, as a percentage, on the edges, and lower in the center. An inverted bell curve. Then again this is pure speculation on my part.

the U.S. press position is that user LeninGood1921 stands for the Democratic Party, but the words and actions of the Republican President cannot be taken as representing the Republican Party.

If you find yourself reading a The Hill/Politico/Axios/Semafor/Right Wing Gossip Rag/Punchbowl/Puck/Breaker Media story and thinking “I’m gonna repost this to amplify the anger against democrats,” just take one (1) second and think through who’s being served by it.

Wow so sound of music and Mary Poppins are...both better than WSS and the music man. And CCBB is best enjoyed on drugs but ...

A lot of Lawrence of Arabia ripping off but they golf delta stick the landing. 9/10

I see this take a lot - a perception that "the media" is failing when the media has always craved narratives. They are STORYTELLERS first and foremost. They like "characters" and "comebacks" and horse races. It isn't a question of belief: stories sell better than policy briefings.

I would argue that the perception that white folks can't be as openly racist actually is driving a lot of the MAGA folks. I remember 25 years ago people telling me "racism is dead" so it is a perpetual idiocy.

okay so what dumb car should we race next ice cream trucks? TANKS?!?
