I think XC3 and XCX have better side quests overall than XC2, but that one side quest in XC2 that reveals Alrest's Nopons used to speak normally until they decided to use babytalk to make humans underestimate them was really memorable for that lore twist alone

Idk why people think that the mecha are incidental in Code Geass when they absolutely aren't? I saw someone say 86 and Code Geass are equally mecha, which makes no sense to me because Code Geass focuses a lot on the powers of its humanoid mechs while the Juggernauts in 86 are literally disposable

86 isn't groundbreaking in this respect, but I do like that it very much acknowledges that systematic oppression is often based on arbitrary criteria and rooted in exploiting the labor and resources of a vulnerable population Lots of other stories miss the mark by failing to identify the root causes
