Was anyone else as disappointed as I was in 1990s #hiphop when suddenly everyone on the West Coast started making #gfunk after The Chronic exploded? Many of my favourite artists went away from the sample-driven #boombap sound to their detriment. Hieroglyphics one of the only crews who didn’t.

In my day job I’m an editor. Today I learned that the compound word is “pains-taking” and not “pain-staking,” despite how we say it. This seems obvious now that I know it. I look forward, in the future, to judging everyone who didn’t know that.
