Overall the world is running on increasingly slower software. That’s a problem considering how much modern society depends on it. Can hardware keep it up? Or maybe by the time it’s a real problem we’ll be entering the quantum computing era and it becomes a “non-issue”

11 years ago today, 29 May 2014, Mario Kart 8 for Wii U was being released in Japan. And next week its sequel, Mario Kart World is finally getting released after skipping a new entry for an entire console generation.

Those rumors Apple is changing their iOS version number to the year 26, 27 etc is a good move if true. The current number (iOS 18) is now high enough it’s hard to remember sometimes and it doesn’t even match the iPhone name (iPhone 16) anymore. Year of release makes more sense.
